Perceptor, coincidentally, had also come over that day. If he was to be here for a long time, it seemed logical to live among members of his own kind, and furthermore, the living quarters of the Autobots seemed far nicer than the rooms available at the MAC. The common room was almost absurdly spacious, and immaculately clean, even to his eyes.

Yes, this would suffice, he supposed.

There was a knock on the door. He wasn't certain if he should open it - he had not yet officially moved his meager possessions into the space - but, well...

He could at least see who it was.

He looked through the peephole.

Red optics? He frowned for a moment. Red was almost always an indicator of a Decepticon, but ( ... )

"Vector Prime."

He didn't recognize the voice, but then, was he to expect that all Cybertronians would have already made contact with him? He would have been more surprised if that was so.

"Sentinel Prime offered me accommodations here," he continued.

He considered his options. If this did turn out to be a trick, he had his guns, and besides which, attacking the base would be incredibly foolish. Carefully, he reached out and opened the door, still keeping his body just off center. He gave the other Cybertronian a long glance, but said nothing, then stepped aside to let the other in.

Attacking was the last thing on Vector Prime's mind. Right now, he was more curious as to who this new face was. He met the other's gaze calmly, feeling as though he were being sized up...

...well, let him. There was only so much Vector had to hide, or at least veil. He nodded in greeting as he stepped inside, taking in his first impressions of the base itself.

The first room was extremely spacious, with a number of couches situated around an entertainment system. There was a spectacular view of the city from all sides, thanks to a number of sliding glass doors that opened up onto a nearly wrap-around balcony for the fliers - at least, when there'd been Autobot fliers. Yet the apartment was surprisingly warm despite all that glass, mostly due to it being double-paned and energy efficient. The whole place looked quite modern and extremely comfortable. One doorway seemed to lead into a kitchen area, and the other to a long hallway of rooms - the living quarters ( ... )

Quite a bit more expansive than the apartments Starscream showed him, but there were certain...aesthetics that were the same. Vector couldn't help but smile at noting the undeniably Cybertronian influences. Not Autobot, not Decepticon...oh, the colors were different, but they had so much more in common than they cared to realize.

Nonetheless, he was currently being studied by one that he didn't even know the designation of. Vector turned his head, a mild expression on his face. "I'm afraid I didn't catch your name...?"

"Perceptor," he said, simply.

"Well met, Perceptor. Shockwave mentioned you." Admittedly mentioned was just about it, but at least he had a bit of ground to stand upon with this one. Vector would have asked if he were a scientist, but...

...well, the guns at Perceptor's hips had caught his attention. Few scientists he knew of wore their weapons so openly.

Perceptor tilted his head curiously. As was usual for him, the pause before he spoke felt a little too long.

"He did?"

"...yes."

Well, perhaps he was a special case. Vector reached into his jacket, where he had stored Starscream's notes. He'd already separated the engineering specs from the rest of them; they weren't in the pack he pulled out.

"From context, you may have an interest in these."

Perceptor took them, and looked them over.

And looked them over, and stared at them. It was difficult to read - he only knew how to read Decepticon because Blaster had insisted on it, and he was still a little slow.

Light of my spark he thought. The Decepticon scientists have been busy. Whose are these? Their handwriting is terrible.

"... where did you get these. The script is Decepticon."

Though he could guess, given some of the derisive comments in the document.

"Starscream was kind enough to make me copies of his notes. As I understand it, there is a truce between your factions that should make the sharing of information most valuable."

Of course, were he to find this information abused, he would be most disappointed in them...but he was trusting that they were smart enough not to let it degrade so.

...

Well, at least not immediately.

"Starscream."

The anger is obvious in his voice. He knows this much?

"... a truce I, personally, acknowledge only out of courtesy to my fellow Autobots."

Some wounds ran too deep.

The tone caught his attention immediately. Vector's gaze turned sharp as he looked over Perceptor, searching for...

...well, whatever it was, it wasn't clear if he found it or not. But his expression was grim. "Whatever happened in your own world," he said slowly, quietly, "these are not the mechs who did it. Take care that you do not misplace your blame."

Percy tried to keep his expression neutral, but it was difficult.

"So noted," he said. "But they are quite similar."

He folded his arms then, tilting his head slightly. "And what right have you to tell me otherwise? I have debts to pay. And even if you are from before the war, know that the ones I know burned Cybertron itself to a husk, empty of life. I have no guarantee that these will not do the same to this world."

Vector Prime, on the other hand, merely narrowed his eyes at the other. The red intensified.

"I have seen a Cybertron that has forgotten what life was. Those who would have stopped its death were killed early. Regardless of whose side they claim to be on, there are no winners in a war - there are only those who survive to know the damage they have done."

And even then, they so rarely understood.
