He, meanwhile, was pulling those ridiculous reindeer antlers off his head as they settled in at home. It had been a lovely, long day, first off on an errand of his own, and then helping her at the children's hospital. So many little children, so very ill...it had rather struck him that maybe his life hadn't been so awful after all...

He'd finally gotten to meet Lucy, too, the little girl that Raven visited every week. He'd spent most of the afternoon with her, talking with her about...well, everything. Their families, the City, Raven. He'd not ever had so personal a conversation with a small girl ever, really. She'd asked him about the H, and he'd explained what it meant, and she looked at him with a curious, tilted head and said, "So you're Raven's imaginary friend?"

That made him laugh, it really did.

But now, they were home, and he had every intention of just relaxing.

"Next year, I'm not wearing the reindeer antlers. I refuse. It's beneath my dignity."

He mock-frowned at her, scowling playfully.

His declaration made a soft chortle of laughter enter into the air, and she very slowly strolled into the living room, taking a moment to bend down and plug the tree and garlands into the electrical socket. She turned no other lights on, as the small white bulbs of light did an adequate job of lighting things just fine. It was an almost ethereal glow, set off by the antique golds, emerald greens, and peacock blues she had used to decorate.

She stood up straight, and let out a content breath, before looking back at him again.

"Yes, you will. Every Santa Claus needs a reindeer, after all. It could have been so much worse." she smirks to herself as she sits just on the arm of the couch, rather than letting herself sink into the cushions themselves. "I could have made you an elf."

He tossed the antlers onto the coffee table, and settled onto the sofa, rolling his eyes and chuckling.

"Oh, yes, because Mr. Spock ears and a green tunic would suit me even better. I'm just glad you didn't make me paint my nose red. That, I would have refused out of hand, period. There are limits, m'lass."

He had a cup of tea in front of him, and he sighed as he took the first sip and enjoyed the lighting effect of the tree and garland.

"Merry Christmas, love."

She crosses one leg over the other, shifting a bit. Velour wasn't a very forgiving fabric when it came to a lot of positions, she was realizing, especially when it was sewn with a mermaid effect in the skirt, keeping it tight to her legs. ... she should've gone for the knee-length dress.

She could have spouted off something charming about Rudolph's importance to Santa Claus, or perhaps something witty to make him laugh. But instead she just smiles, her expression as warm as the lights she had just turned on.

"Merry Christmas, Arnold."
