[He hasn't checked his communicator in over a day - truth be told, he doesn't really find all that much use for it as is, since he spends more of his time worried about getting crime off the streets, getting homework taken care of and sorting things out about his upcoming place with the Avengers

[Brenda leans on the car next to him, fresh off a bathroom break and tucking into a lime green slushie she picked up at the quikstop attached to the gas station. It's tasty. She's missed lime drinks.]

[Mark presses the button to log off, tucking the communicator in his pocket. As much as his identity and alias are used on the network, he's used to keeping his business as Invincible away when someone - namely Brenda - shows up to remind him that right now, he's Mark Grayson.

Mark can't help but wince at the mention of the City as 'home', but doesn't comment on it.]

... Guess not. [After a beat, he gives her an awkward smile.] You never know if something's crazy starting up back there.

Things being crazy seems like pretty much standard issue with that place. I get worried when it gets quiet.

[Brenda smiles, not missing his wince. She reaches over to pat him on the shoulder.]

You know...it's possible. That you might get to go home I mean.
