Sweeping outside the shop on a sunny afternoon was, according to Amaterasu, a pretty ideal day. Although the goddess was happiest when at work, she occasionally liked the laze that occurred when the world was more at peace. Winter had arrived in the City, and as such, a new sort of flower was more likely to be desired. Wondering about how to figure out which plants were necessary, she found her train of thought broken by an object fluttering by.

It was a scarf, she noticed. Someone must have lost it, no doubt, and recently. Shifting into the form of a wolf, she bolted across the street and caught the woven fabric in her mouth.

The task at hand, the wolf decided, was to find its owner. Sniffing the fabric, she ran off towards the direction of a park.

Without the strain of keeping up with the ebb and flow of the streets, Blue felt he could breathe and properly appreciate this change of climate. He could understand why many detested it, definitely, but there was a kind of beauty and charm the cold and snow had compared to warmer days.

His thoughts were shaken by a fast-moving shape not far away. He turned his head to catch better glimpse of it in his seeing eye. A rather large animal, especially for this City. Wherever it came from and to wherever it wished to be, it certainly looked to be on a mission.

Snow did little to affect Ammy when she had a nice, warm pelt of fur to keep her warm. As she barreled across the park, small snowflakes burst into being like flowers behind her footsteps.

Still holding the scarf carefully in her mouth, she stopped as the scent trail came to a close where the man was sitting. Stepping forward slowly, the wolf set the scarf down in front of him.

It was certainly a surprise to Blue, who blinked and straightened as the larger-than-expected animal approached. All the more surprising was what was brought; a faint sound escaped him as he leaned forward to confirm it--

That was his scarf alright.

Before the wind could sweep it away from his grasp again, Blue reached down and, dusting it free of snow, folded it in his lap. He tilted his head at the animal--a creature he had never seen before, sensing something much more than simple instinct.

"Thank you," he murmured softly, smiling. "You are most kind."

The wolf, cognizant of his words, nodded, watching him take the scarf back. It was a simple task to perform, returning a lost belonging. But any task that took away a minor inconvenience, or just made someone happier, was a task worth doing.

The wolf thought just that as it sat in the snow, still staring at the man. He seemed familiar, thought Amaterasu.

Though Blue did not acknowledge the nod, the wave of satisfaction and thoughtful curiosity was certainly not his, nor did he detect anyone else around. The wolf, then...? He looked back up and found her gazing back in silence.

"I do not remember ever seeing someone like you before," he said. "You must be from another world, as I am, though..."

Ah, so this one was able to listen to thoughts as words, she imagined. It was an interesting ability, no matter what its source was. While Amaterasu had long gotten accustomed to speaking, it was, in a way, more comfortable to remain a speechless wolf.

She thought of Nippon in reply-- the forests, the villages, and the mountains covered in snow. The land was beautiful, and faith in her and her children made it so.

It was a home worth missing, all in all.

The imagery that came as response was quite otherworldly to him; strange, but remembered with such an affection that he could hardly find a single fault with it, as ancient as it seemed. A pang of sympathy for her loss.

"Your home is beautiful," he said eventually, smiling. "You are right to long to see it again; I would wish to, as well."

He paused, bracing himself against another breeze. "I am called Blue," he went on. Perhaps the name meant something to her beyond the color it represented. "What do the people of your home call you?"

It was a while since she reflected upon Nippon. Not the one of this world, she knew. Visiting it had yielded little happiness. The one of her home-- it was simply incomparable. But time, Ammy assumed, did such things inevitably.

If it was possible, she thought, if there was a way, she would be able to take this man there, if he wished to see it. The land was an open place, welcoming strangers and old friends alike.

Her identity? While on the outside, civilians simply knew her as Old Lady Yamato, it was little use in assuming that name. She thought of her name, and looked up at Blue.

Such a gracious spirit. Blue's smile broadened just slightly at the unspoken offer that was never to be. He would've liked that a great deal. Maybe such a thing were possible after this life.

The name drifted to mind and his smile waned a pensive frown, considering it and all that was attatched. Flowers, was it? Wasn't there someone on the network who owned a shop of flowers? But...that would've been an elderly woman speaking, not the creature before him.

To be certain, though, he asked: "Are you the one who spoke of flowers on the network?"

Flowers? Yes, it would have been more obvious, she supposed, if snow hadn't blanketed the city. Standing up, the wolf began to dig at a spot in the grass. As the snow cleared into a small patch of green, Ammy stared at it in concentration.

As the celestial brush in her mind placed a single dot of ink on the grass, a bright red poinsettia, fully grown, grew from the spot in an instant.

Blue watched the wolf's actions attentively, sensing purpose. Whether he could anticipate or not, he was genuinely amazed by what he saw happen before him. No machine could replicate what he had just seen.

"You have a magnificent gift," he remarked quietly, reaching out to tilt one of the leaves, as if it were not really there. He looked up at her. "It's beautiful."

The Celestial brush was something that Ammy was always proud to bear. It was art, she answered. One that was shared by her children, as well a small, but dear companion. And his ability, she added, was also one of great power. Although she was adept at reading actions, to know what the troubles of others were was quite useful as well.

"You are very kind," he replied aloud to her complimentary thoughts. To call a power 'art'...it was hardly something Blue considered quite often. Though, to be certain, watching Remus use magic, or this display, he could understand why.

He almost had a mind to ask if it were in her power to melt the snow and warm the place a bit, actually, but that was a rather extreme request. His hand slid away from the plant, tucking under his arms to get warm again.

"This cold...hardly bothers you, does it?" he wondered aloud. "As you are now. You do not seem to dislike this weather as so many around us."

She shook a little snow off of her pelt. Although it clung to the wolf's fur, it hardly noticed the snow, and considered it similar to flowers or leaves that would also eventually find their way into Amaterasu's pelt.

It was possible, she thought, to make the sun appear with her own technique. It was not an art native to her children, but the Sun goddess' own. But that one, Amaterasu lamented, was likely taken by the machine when she arrived. Although flames were possible, it was impossible any longer to will the sun into being.

"Such powers are unheard of where I am from," Blue said in reply. "To simply create life the way you did moments ago...that in of itself is the stuff of fairy tales. I am sorry, though, for the loss of your other great power. I could not imagine being parted with any of mine."

It was also hard to imagine just how one would go about drawing the sun into view--he, who had seen dozens of suns in his people's travels through space. A universe of logic and science would hardly know what to do with this creature's powers.
