i thought that title said 'final destination' and wondered if this was a horror log. notsoloyal December 10 2009, 07:49:39 UTC
[As usual, Shockwave doesn't care where they've gone to eat. If the place sold food and it was decent, he was fine with it.]

[He keeps quiet for a while, almost reveling in the silence. Things have been... awkward - if he really had to pick a word for it - between Soundwave and himself. Although they have been that way since Desire, but he isn't sure if it's gotten worse, or remained about the same.]

Was there any reason you selected this place?

[No need to jump straight to the decision.]

NO WEAPONS. NO POWERS. WAVES ONLY. FINAL DESTINATION. allshock_notalk December 10 2009, 08:00:01 UTC
Searches were performed to check for a highly rated location. I am occasionally picky.

[His tone, for public, is manipulated to sound more... normal by human standards. Soundwave is capable of concentrating on speaking in full grammatical sentences, but they never seem to get to the point.]

[Soundwave is patient. He sees no reason to nag Shockwave for an answer -- now or later. Perhaps never. Part of him truly expects no answer, and he isn't particularly hopeful, either. He knows what he wants, but he expects little.]

Question. How was your work?

[He orders himself some of the salmon and red wine.]

ROLLER. COASTER. notsoloyal December 10 2009, 08:16:27 UTC
[The change in voice is odd, not what he's used to hearing, but he understands the reasoning. It is logical. Humans are strange illogical creatures and sounding different was apparently cause to stare amongst other things. Still, he did rather Soundwave's real voice, as opposed to this one he used in public.]

Hm.

It has proven to be intriguing so far. I certainly do not expect to find much, especially since it cannot hold any significance to a planet that does not exist in this universe. That aside, it is still a learning experience.

[For himself he orders a steak and water. He'd have tea later, and alcohol... He really did not want to end up with a headache again, not with the experience of last time.]

[While it is not preferable, Soundwave has become accustomed to changing his voice constantly. Different identities, some laced with different personalities -- all to deal with living a life in hiding. Spying and disguises are nothing new to him, but at times it feels like coward's work considering he cannot even choose his own form this time.]

What was your goal?

get down on the merry-go-round? notsoloyal December 10 2009, 08:47:23 UTC
[His goal? This was something he had been wanting to do essentially since he had arrived in the City, however that had hardly been the time. And then things had gotten so busy, but the goal? He supposes in reality there isn't much of one. He had taken an interest in Earth because of Vector Sigma, no other reason. Alaska out of everywhere on Earth did hold some significance - this universe however, not so much. All in all it is just another thing that could be passed off as one of the scientist's obsessions.]

To see just how similar this Earth is to the one from my universe. Earth had been rather important - or rather Vector Sigma dictated such. It was vital for Cybertron, so I simply wished to see if there was anything of interest about this Earth.

you spin me right round baby allshock_notalk December 11 2009, 03:53:26 UTC
[He nods quietly, silently thanking the returning waitress as she sets down the water and wine for both of the Decepticons.]

I cannot say that Earth was particularly important to Cybertron in my universe. Did you discover anything interesting?

[He is genuinely curious. Most data does interest him.]

i could trace your private number baby~ notsoloyal December 11 2009, 04:07:23 UTC
[He glances at the water for a second.]

Here, not particularly. Back in my universe, I never got the chance to properly study it, as the Porter did see fit to interrupt me.

[Sips his wine. He's listening, patiently.]

Does it still matter to you?

I JUST SKETCHED 'THE WAVE BROS.' notsoloyal December 11 2009, 04:42:45 UTC
Hn.

[Narrows eyes.]

Of course it still matters, however there is not much I can do about it now.

O RLY. allshock_notalk December 11 2009, 04:54:56 UTC
There is not much either of us can do about our respective worlds.

[His statement isn't firm, but more of one that accepts this truth -- begrudgingly.]

THEY HAVE THE SAME HAT. notsoloyal December 11 2009, 05:14:28 UTC
Unfortunately.

[He knows that as long as he is here there is absolutely nothing he can do to influence what happens in his own universe, and if time does not pass there there really is no need. Still, the lack of control over when or if he ever gets sent back is terribly unfortunate. He has adjusted to this world, and he cannot really allow himself to ever miss his own universe. That would be illogical.]

Earth would have been under Cybertron's control by now.

THAT IS ADORABLE. I WANT TO SEE. allshock_notalk December 11 2009, 06:09:09 UTC
I see.

[As for him, it is not terribly complicated what happens. It is not even known if he can change his own future. The only reason Soundwave wishes to return is the concern he has for his cassettes. That is all. Everything else is irrelevant now, unfortunately. Particularly the idea that he'd end up under Galvatron's command again.]

Bitter?

YOU CAN'T. IT'S NOT DONE YET. notsoloyal December 11 2009, 06:17:25 UTC
...

[He takes a minute, drinking some of his water.]

There is no reason for me to be bitter about it. I am in no rush to get back.

DAMN IT. allshock_notalk December 11 2009, 06:25:31 UTC
Your primary programming: to conquer. It might be frustrating to some.

Perhaps it does not bother you, though.

[Just driiiinks his wine.]

[Slight glare.]

I am perfectly capable of waiting. It allows for more time to think, which is also part of my programming.

YAYYYY allshock_notalk December 11 2009, 06:31:54 UTC
It is my secondary programming. I cannot change my primary.

However. You are correct. It is an important line of code.

[He's far more embittered, he supposes. Being in a human body for this long has permitted far too many more emotions than he wants to feel, but they are there, of course.]

Of course.
