Something about night was just appealing. He didn't know what it was about it--though high school memories of getting into cop-worthy trouble screwing around with his friends came to mind--but Cole just liked it. He was wandering around himself... if by "himself" meant "nothing like Rorschach is doing". The only addition being a ski-hat (because when you're practically fucking bald you wear hats sometimes), he didn't look much different in his whole aimless-wandering-around-taking-in-the-scenery-stuff.

Rorschach freezes when he sees another figure ahead, and recognizing it as

The cop who landed him in jail the last time. He's unsure what to do - attack the guy who's got superpowers and try to get rid of him, or just turn and leave, which is not his preferred method of handling things.

Rorschach turns and stares him down, removing his hands from his pockets.

He doesn't make a sound, just continues to "glare" as much as his mask's patterns will allow.

maybe both of them having to save some random person/beat up some guy but yeah

God dammit, the usual crap. He wasn't up for interpreting whether or not he could see some bunnies or clowns making out on this guy's fucking face, so he just grabbed him by the collar. "Unless you want a good dose of lightning up places..."

Before he can try to punch Cole out of his face, there's a scream coming from a nearby alley. How convenient!

And Rorschach can just run away or something later so he doesn't have to get more COP TROUBLE

Oh, god dammit some more. Screams are more important right now, and Cole's not question it, but that doesn't mean he won't say a quick "shit" in his head before he lets go of Rorschach and bolts in that direction.

He follows closely behind; pretty typical night, really. Attempted rape or mugging or murder on some unsuspecting woman, someone too often the victim.

Once they reach the alley it's a case of robbery at knifepoint, or so it seems.

He wasn't much for going around hunting down screaming people like Rorschach did (okay not really), but that didn't mean Cole wouldn't help out someone who needed it. With a loud "HEY" he literally lit up his arms. At first to see if he could scare the robber off. If not, he wasn't afraid to hurt him.

Rorschach backs off from the display, wary. He doesn't want any collateral damage, but he approaches the criminal too, wanting to take him out before Cole can. Call it immature, but that's what his plan of action was.

Cole's mind was running through possibilities. As much as he'd just like to fry the hell outta the guy, the girl getting robbed here woulda been pretty crispy too. Then he glances over at Rorschach's approach. He considers it for about half a second before the usual 'what the hell'.

He nodded.
