He wasn't completely stupid; Quatre had been told where he was going, just in case the tests got out of hand. Granted, there had been a small disagreement--all right, argument--over the idea, but then, most of Trowa's actions lately had led to such things; it concerned him, in a back corner of his mind, but... he still had to focus on the mission.

Not knowing about Waspinator's present status and being in the dark about the machine that had been used, and having no place to hide any weaponry now that his clothes were part of him, Trowa had chosen to come unarmed, thinking that it was best not to blatantly imply that he didn't fully trust Shockwave. In any case, as terrifying as most people found the were-form, he thought it would likely be more threatening and dangerous the way he was now--enough to give him a chance to escape if things went wrong, perhaps ( ... )

The security system was incredibly basic. Normal. Nothing more than an alarm if the place was broken into. Hardly anything you'd expect from someone like Shockwave. But he didn't keep anything important there to begin with, so he was not going to go to lengths to keep the place under heavy security. Especially when he gave out the address to this particular lab so easily.

Extra security would probably have scared off the delivery guys when he had used this laboratory more often as well.

The knock at been easy to hear, and he was quick to pull the door open.

The scientist arched a brow at the boy. Interesting.

"Hm."

It struck a mild note of inner surprise in him to see someone at the door so shortly after the initial knock, but taking a second to think about it, Trowa decided that the ex-bot was probably just ready to get on with the science--logic and tests seemed to be the center of Shockwave's life, in nearly the same way animals and machines were for his own ( ... )

Logic and tests were the center of the scientist's life. Tests provided knowledge - of which he craved - and logic was what he was programed for. Logical was, well. Logical.

Perhaps he was overly confident, as to why he simply allowed anyone to venture into this particular laboratory - even if it was not particularly valuable or important to him. He was not worried, it would be illogical to feel that way, and the child was hardly a threat. He volunteered himself for this, he gave permission and would allow the tests.

Spy or not, currently Shockwave felt there was little to be concerned about. There were very few reasons as to why he would need to be to be cautious or on guard, and even lesser chances of those reasons occurring.

If anything, he had his radiation. If he was capable of blasting through Dinobot armor, he would be fine.

Quietly he turned, walking into the lab and waving a hand.

"Come in," he trusted the boy to shut the door. "This is rather kind of you, given my general reputation when it comes to experiments. However ( ... )
