In appreciation for her courtesy, Warren accepted Wanda's invitation despite their previous...issues. The fundraiser had been such a success that he couldn't not show up.

Tonight he was wearing a navy blue Italian tux and a small, simple matching eye mask. His mood was good, and he was feeling up for dancing and socializing.

Alison had walked in along with him wearing a blue dress with a butterfly mask. Her blonde hair was curled and nicely done against the sides of her face.

She didn't really want to be here, but she still came.

"So." She trailed off. "This looks nice."

He turned to glance down at her with a small smile, placing his hand against the small of her back as he led them inside. "She may be semi-evil, but I have to give her props; they definitely have the place done up nicely."

However, Alison's nervousness did not go unnoticed. Warren knew she had her reasons, but he really was hoping she'd eventually open up and have a good time. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah." She nodded slowly as she glanced around. Her eyes went to a few certain people, but she eventually looked back at Warren. She placed her hand on his for a moment, and smiled just a little. "I'll be fine."

She paused.

"And don't worry. Wanda and I have a truce."

"So I won't be turning to random animals tonight?" he joked, noticing where her eyes were drifting off to.

Awkward.

It was time for a distraction, obviously. Flashing a bright grin, he took that hand and turned her back to the others, pulling her closer to him.

"Care to dance?"

"No, you won't. Promise."

She smiles again when he pulls her closer. Ali eyes him for a moment before she responds. "Always. But if I start glowing, that's your fault."

"I'm fully prepared to take full responsibility for any sparkles or mutant related strobe lights," he grinned as he slid his hands down to her hips and began moving to the bouncy beats. The smile was at least a start to get her to loosen up, so he kept at it. "Don't I tell you enough that I think that's when you're at your best?"

"Maybe." Alison just liked compliments, so she wanted them to keep coming. She moved along to the music with him, letting her arms rest around his neck. "You just keep talking, fella, and I'll brighten up this room in no time."

"You know, I had this distinct feeling the room would be a little brighter with you in it," he lulled, turning her and wrapping his arms around her middle to hold her there. Leaning his head down to her ear, he lowered his voice. "I'm glad you decided to come after all."

She couldn't help but burst into a grin at that declaration. "Well, we'll see if it was a good idea, honey. So far, so good!" She paused "Besides, I couldn't let you come alone."

"Yeah, then I'd have to go around and beg all the ladies around here to keep me company, wouldn't I?" he teased her. "Yours would be some pretty tough shoes to fill though, so I'm glad I didn't have to go that far."

Now he was just waiting for her to nudge him in the gut for that one.

And she did, just slightly.

"Uh-huh. You're so full of it, mister." She couldn't help but smirk, though. He was trying to keep her happy so she wanted to roll with it. Get comfortable, or at least try to. "You've totally got my company; no need to beg."

"Aw, you mean you don't want me getting down on my knees for you in public again?"

Oh, he knew she'd just kill him if he even dared tried that one again. The bus was still such a fond memory.

"And I'm not full of it, excuse me! I think you secretly love every word I have to say."

Yes, Warren firmly believed that.

Oh, she'd kill him. Even if the day on the bus was something she remembered happily, she did not want him doing something that silly again.

That made him tilt his head back and laugh; and Ali said that he was full of it?

"It'd be much classier this time around if I did it though! A spiffy tux in a ballroom is a hell of a lot more romantic than me wearing my X-Gear on a city bus."

Though, she totally checked him out in that spandex. He knew it.

On that note though, he couldn't help but lift a hand off of her to pull at his tie teasingly. "You do think I'm up to standard tonight, right?"

Yes, she did check out the spandex. But that wasn't important! She was not admitting that.

Alison rolled his eyes at the question, turning around and placing her hand over his. "Honey, you're amazing."

Warren always looked wonderful in suits, but Ali always wanted to tug his tie and kiss him when he wore them.
