Tommy gave a last 'thank you, good afternoon' before stepping out of the store. The minute he stood on the street, holding a small bunch of papers on one hand, the other in his pants pocket, he rolled his eyes with dread. He felt ridiculous whenever he offered himself up for a job and actually tried to put up a remotely polite and friendly attitude with his possible-employers. Just the thought of standing around all day having to assist whatever snot-ball came up to him asking when the latest toy of the Giant Robots From Space would come out - and proceeding to throw a fit when he got told there were no such things - was almost enough to make him throw away all the copies of his résumé (which wasn't all that impressive, to say the least) and spend the rest of his day doing whatever the hell he felt like doing.
Almost.
There was a puff, and he started walking again, running his hand through his hair before looking across the street in an attempt to spot any hiring signs. Shortly after that, he watched a red scooter pass by him, a pizza restaurant's logo slapped on the back. Kate's brilliant suggestion of having him pursuing a delivery guy's dream career popped back into his head; the complaints from the rest of his house mates about his lack of productivity and contribution quickly followed.
Tommy rubbed the bridge of his nose. Why did he have to get a stupid job, of all things? Wasn't the whole 'save the day from exploding dinosaurs' deal enough to get by?
This sucked. So much.
