In all reality, it was just easier to design the suits after their first generation Gundam than the upgrades. For one thing, the upgrades had been built for space combat, while the originals were created to fight on Earth- the extra equipment could both potentially leave to enemies, giving them technology they shouldn't have, when they didn't need it. ZERO System, most of all- especially to Duo and to Quatre, was something they never wanted this world to see.

"I'll hang back a little then. I can only invisify this thing with myself for about 5 seconds before it strains on me too much. It'll have to wait until I'm already on the ground, on my way into the base," Duo replied. "Thirty minutes? Buddy, who d'you think you're talking to?" With a grin, he eased on the throttle, letting Quatre and Trowa take the lead just behind Heero.

"Approaching the enemy's first anti-aircraft line! Heero, Trowa, straight ahead and at 4 o'clock!" Quatre announced, letting off a spray of his head vulcans, leaving the heavy blasts to Trowa, of course, and to Heero.

"The self-proclaimed God of Death, of course," he replied in a dry voice. "Don't be late."

"Roger that," he confirmed to Quatre's warning, in tandem with Trowa's softer "Roger". He vaguely missed his beam sabre as he sighted the targets and let off successive shots of his mounted machine cannon. It didn't take them to take out the attacking units, their lighter suits weaving expertly around the screaming surface-to-air missiles. All in all, the country did have such an impressive array of military equipment; not surprising for a country that was on the brink of economic collapse.

"Two more missile launchers ahead; I'll take care of them." Trowa's quiet report came seconds before the Sentinel Heavyarms pulled ahead and took out the enemy units with a short burst of concentrated fire from his chest-mounted Gatling.

Below them, there were no cities, no giant skyscrapers like they saw as they flew over the United States. North Korea was almost entirely made up of rural farming communities, and there weren't any cars in sight. "It's like an entirely different era," Quatre remarked, eyes alert for any potential enemies. "You'd think a country like this would have other things to focus on rather than building up armaments."

Duo cracked a grin to himself. "¡Sí, mi Capitán!" Duo chortled, hanging back, watching the radar and minding the team's defense as they took care of the border security.

Quatre's comment was met with a moment of quiet consideration, and Duo frowned a little. "That's what you get in governments where they care more about their concentration of power and military status than they do making sure the citizens can make a living," he muttered. They were all, the four of them, familiar with that very sort of government, of course. Nothing more had to be said. It was as if looking into a mirror in which the colonies had been agricultural communities, rather than scientific ones.

"Two minutes until we reach the base- when the guns start ablazin', I'm heading off," Duo announced, muscles tensing. He looked over the layout of the structure he was about to sneak into, trying to burn it into his brain.

There was silence on the radio waves as all four of them considered the parallels. It wasn't a big surprise that there existed such governments everywhere; mankind's biggest desire was, and likely always will be, military power before all else. It was what the Earth Sphere and OZ both looked to the colonies to provide for them. The deeply-ingrained survival instincts within humans translated into an almost-compulsive need to acquire more arms for "national security". Back home, Relena's efforts were starting to have some effects toward a path of pacifism, but that may be only because the memories of war were so fresh. Here--

His ruminations cut off as his screens told him the same thing as Duo's as second before the other's voice filtered through the comm links. "Roger."

"One minute," Quatre said, exactly one minute after. They could all see the base now, nestled away in the mountainous terrain. "Be careful, everyone, and especially you, Duo." There was a strain of tension and concern in the pilot of Sandrock's voice.

And then the three of them took the initial charge, opening fire as they flew in; they breached the outer wall with relative ease, having the advantage of surprise. Within minutes, however, soldiers were scrambling for guns and anti-aircraft missiles whined through the air toward them. Heero concentrated on his own targets, trusting the others to be able to take care of themselves.
