But she still didn't know what to say to him.
The Warren that she saw..wasn't even capable of that on his worst days. He needed to be in company of people who loved him, not in some jail cell. She re-entered the room but kept her distance by staying at the door.
"Well, that was something.." She said, searching for the right words.
A name lingered in the back of her mind. Joker...

"Were you there?"
He couldn't remember all of the faces, but he felt considerably worse whenever he found that someone was there.
Reply
"No. I got briefings from the others. And then I saw some of the footage. Not your best moment."
Reply
"I'm definitely not disagreeing with you," he flicked his gaze up to hers. "What were you all briefed on, exactly?"
Reply
"The Joker broke in to your office Infected you with the gas and you lost your mind." She said coldly.

He paused, and considered the next question.
"Were you briefed on my powers?"
Reply
"I know Scott's keeping his eye on you, not the best of times. How is your company doing? You know who's in charge?

Warren's eyes were still trained on her face; he was trying to get a good idea of what it was Dani was thinking or feeling, but she was a tough one to decipher. Her questions were straight to the point and business-like, making it impossible to determine where she was getting at. It made Warren's insides twist nervously.
"Scott knows better. Knows more." He paused. "And the companies were all headed by stockholders like me. Businessmen-- regular old people."
Reply
"Scott is Scott. Only Emma can get through to him." She said. "Warren, stop blaming yourself. If you don't, I'll beat the heck out of you."
Reply
"Scott's also one of my best friends," Warren told her very seriously. "He has been since I was fifteen, Dani. I'd follow him to hell and back."
He didn't comment on the guilt part though. No matter what anyone said, it would be there.

He let her sit, staying quietly in his place as he watched her. "I don't know yet. I have to surrender, and then they'll book me. I don't know if they'll let me out on bail, or anything like that, but I'll have to go to court and everything else. It's the right thing to do."
Reply
"I'm not saying it but.." She cracked a smile. Not a genuine one, just one to change the subject.
"Hi-tech cell? Hope they let you get any visitors..If you want any.." She said, looking down to the sheets.
Reply
"But high-tech or not, I wouldn't mind company," Warren continued quickly when he noted Dani's expression. "I mean, it'd be better than talking to the schizos, or the guys who run around in trench coats flashing people, or burgulars, right?"
Reply
"I hope you get to keep up with current events. You should be in the know, with whatever goes on here."
Reply
At least they were getting more comfortable with this now; Warren got the impression that Dani was more worried than angry. "I get to keep my communicator, I think. If Bullseye and Carnage can, I don't see why I wouldn't be able to."
