Emma Frost sat absolutely still at her desk, staring at the blank journal book laid out in front of her and wondering why she had even taken it out of an old shelf. It had been a while since Emma Frost had written her thoughts on a journal. The last time she ever remembered doing such a thing was when she had been just a teenager, figuring out life.
It definitely wasn't the City's recent events that caused her to be so emotional lately, and it definitely wasn't the overflow of the Summers family tree. ...It was Scott bloody Summers.
In a room not so far away, Emma knew Scott and Jean had been behind closed doors, talking. Scott had let out the news to Jean - bad news (even though it should have been good news) he'd chosen Emma over her. A part of Emma hurt because she knew he was entirely hesitant over this.
He was being fair - just fair.
Of course, he wasn't leaving Jean because he wanted to be with Emma. He was leaving her because it was the right thing to do. After all, Scott told Emma the affair had been a mistake. And now he was trying to redeem himself.
But she knew she was being absolutely ridiculous.
Again, she stared at the blank journal, her pen about to touch the paper...
