WHO: Blackarachnia & Optimus, later Sentinel
WHERE: The Police Station
WHEN: Backdated to 7/15
WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: BA has a little surprise to show Optimus that could really help the police force.
FORMAT: Parathingy

Blackarachnia: Just as she had said Blackarachnia arrived at the station to show Optimus her little surprise for him. Nothing special, at least not for their world. But in this world it would be incredibly useful.

She had wanted to sneak into his office and surprise him but the annoying human made sure that didn’t happen.

“Hello, Optimus.” she spoke, unable to conceal her grin. The Autobot would momentarily regret his choice of words over the network.

Optimus: He was doing paperwork, again. If there was one part of his job that made him die a little on the inside, it was paperwork. Granted, it was necessary, because without it the police force would be even more ineffectual than it already was. And that would be bad.

His head snapped up in surprise when he heard Blackarachnia's voice, and he gave her a smile. "Oh good, I've been waiting for you. Come on in, have a seat," he said, gesturing to one of the chairs in front of his desk. He immediately started moving stacks around, trying to unclutter his desk some so he could at least see her across the desk.

The femme did just that, making herself comfortable in the chair as she eyed the mountain of paperwork on his desk. “However does this planet survive with all the paper you lot are going through.” she muttered as she set her rather large purse in her lap.

She opened it and dug around a bit while she waited for Optimus to finish clearing enough of his desk to see her.

"Nowhere near as bad as the TransTechs," he muttered under his breath, recalling the seventeen hours of filling out forms just for admittance into a city where he was illegal anyway. Still, he cleared it off, and leaned on his elbows, eager to see what Blackarachnia had brought - hopefully it wasn't a trap.

Blackarachnia looked up at him with a confused look clearly written across her face. “TransTech?”

She shook her head and continued to dig around a bit more, somehow the surprise had become buried deep in her bag. Finally she located it and looked back up at Optimus.

“If you wouldn’t mind, would you close your eyes and hold out your hand?” She forced a sweet smile onto her face. Sorry Optimus, but it pretty much was a trap. Not one that would kill him but it certainly was the best way to show him what she had for him.

"It's a long story," Optimus said, waving his hand.

At that particular insistence, and the smile, his guard immediately went up. "I'll hold out my hand, but I'm not closing his eyes," he said. She may have once been one of his oldest friends, and maybe at one time in this city they had dated, but by no means did he trust her not to poison him or something else.

It was then that she mocked pouting. “Do you not trust me? I wouldn’t be stupid enough to try anything here. You can trust me.”

His eyes narrowed a bit in suspicion, and he knew that he definitely should have seen that line coming. Frowning a little, he closed one eye, then the other, and held out one hand, the other hand at the ready to summon the Magnus Hammer, just in case.

Oh goodie! He gave in. Of course she noticed he was on guard, not that it would matter in a few moments.

Silently she stood and pulled her surprise from the bag. The surprise turned out to be a pair of stasis cuffs, of course much smaller than the ones back home and slightly modified to do more than just put the wearer in modified stasis.

Quickly she snapped on ring around his wrist. Which completed the circuit and would send an electric current through Optimus’s body. Similar to being hit with a stun gun minus all the jerky movement involved. And then all she had to do was move quickly enough to get the other wring enclosed around his other wrist. Which wasn’t that hard to do when he was basically a rag doll, or close enough to one.

In a matter of seconds Optimus was cuffed and other than being momentarily stunned, fine. He would still be able to move (unless she pressed the button on the remote in her other hand) and talk. He just wouldn’t be able to use any of his abilities.

The female Decepticon sat back in the chair and smiled at Optimus.

Well, he was surprised and yet he wasn't. Stasis cuffs WERE a pretty nice thing to have around - barring that you weren't the one wearing them, of course. Which Optimus currently was. He jerked in surprise at the jolt of electricity, and when he found himself completely limp and incapable of movement, sprawled out on his desk (good thing he'd cleared it off) he only lay there in quiet indignity for a moment.

After he was sure he could talk, he grumbled "You could have told me you'd created a pair of stasis cuffs that could be used on humans." Slowly he sat up, groaning a little. Stasis cuffs always made him sore.

Blackarachnia couldn’t help but laugh. “Now where would have been the fun in that? And besides they’re more than just stasis cuffs.”

"Really?" he asked. Not that he enjoyed having them on, but if they could do more than just keep him handcuffed, that would be incredibly beneficial to the police force.

She nodded. “They also shut off the wearer’s powers. Or should. I haven’t had a chance to test them on many subjects yet. But so far they seem to be doing exactly what they were meant to do.”

Oh, that WAS useful. Optimus immediately tried to work several of his own powers - flight, grapplers, foam cannons, and hammer were all out of commission. "I'd say it works, then," he grunted after running through the set of his abilities.

“They still need more testing. I don’t know how they’d do against someone with super strength. Or someone with psychic or telekinetic abilities. Or even those that don’t quite have a solid body.” Or any of the other abilities out there.

Optimus sat back, thinking. "Well, Sentinel has super-strength and some degree of invulnerability. I dropped him on his head from twenty feet up and he came out with hardly a scratch." He thought about it some more, and held up his wrists, suggesting that he was done being cuffed. "I could get him, if you like."

Now that suggestion made Blackarachnia grin widely. “I already know it works on those with a degree of invulnerability.” she replied, pressing the button to release the cuffs from Optimus’s wrists.

“But since he does have super strength…” she let it hang, grinning wider.

He rubbed his wrists. "I'll page him, then." He hollered out to Troy, seated near the door, for the police directory. While Troy scrambled for it, Optimus regarded Blackarachnia. "Can I get you anything to drink while we wait?"

Blackarachnia sat back and waited. She felt pleased with how things were turning out. After she was done here she would still have to inform Hodge about her little creation. “Oh, no. I’ll be fine.”

Of course, Optimus had no idea about Hodge, but he was pretty happy to get any form of stasis cuff. They were a lot more effective than handcuffs. Troy finally brought in the directory, and Optimus flipped through it before locating Sentinel's office phone number and calling it.
