Tony had been feeling off in general since his visit with Desire. In fact, the entire day had felt slow, and he itched to do something, anything. He wanted to work on his suit, to finish it, perfect it, do something other than look at the pieces sitting neatly in his briefcase. He had to sit at his desk and work, do things that took him a few mere moments to do each, and do them simultaneously with other things, but they had to get done. He could be working in the labs, but meetings had to be made.

Such as the one with Nygma. He loathed to think what would be happening on the Paparazzi side, but all of them now carried digital cameras, the kind that e-mailed the photos out to a remote computer, and phones were easily hacked. He just had to remain vigilant and ensure that each and every small ping on his awareness with the Extremis was dealt with swiftly.

It actually wasn't hard to find Nygma, especially since he had already used the satellites to locate him before he had even arrived in the district.

At precisely 7:00, Tony ( ... )

"Mr. Tony Stark!" Edward raised his voice unnecessarily, smirking devilishly as fellow theatrical patrons turned their heads to gawk and whisper. How utterly amusing. Flourishing his hands in a flamboyant and vaguely sarcastic manner of greeting, Edward swiftly turned heel. He brandished two tickets--a private box, of course--before looking over his shoulder.

"No need to thank me." Perhaps his voice was laden with a little too much sneer.

The orchestra pit was warming up as the two men were escorted to their box, which was located on the right side of the theatre. Edward slid into a seat and leaned over the cherry wood finishing of an edge lining, peering down excitedly at the masses below. Most of whom were looking up at him and the figurative star of the show.

"My, hadn't that usher stared at you? How inappropriate. Nice tie, by the way."

Oh, this was too funny. For Eddie.

Tony resisted the urge. Oh, Eddie was just trying to be as obnoxious as possible, wasn't he? His internal searches were going crazy, and he could see the flashes, although he did allow himself a slight smirk each time he heard a disappointed cry when they attempted to send the photos somewhere. Anywhere. The phones were even easier to hack. No trace. There would be spoken rumors, of course but those were allegations, and he could easily shoot those down with a word or two.

Did he really have to act so flamboyant, though? When they arrived at the booth, Tony sat much further away from the edge, he might have even pinched the bridge of his nose in an attempt to shield his eyes from the people watching.

Really, this was ridiculous. "So why exactly are we meeting here?"

"Because I wanted to see how well you function under the heat of public humiliation." Edward flashed him a charming smile. He didn't bother to clarify if he was joking or not. Why not let Stark puzzle over that one? Edward spared his attention back to the audience below. How curious, how adoring they were. Typical. Misguided affection, surely. For lack of anything else.

But Edward was prepared to alter that course. Pushing his slim form away from the edge, he leaned back in his seat. And smiled at his companion.

"Thought you'd be interested. Opening night, you know. What a spectacle this promises to be."
