WHEN: April 14th, various times
WARNINGS: Excessive silliness and lots of action!
SUMMARY: Heero and Trowa go to visit Quatre while he's working. They're just not sure which store he's working in. Edgeworth follows after.

The noise was not what bothered Trowa; he had been long used to the sound of battle and the raucous nature of the circus, and tuned it out as easily as he would have anything else he considered a distraction. What had gotten to him, instead, was the pressing crush of people as they wandered by, occasionally stopping to bother him with questions about where to eat or the best shoe store, as though he'd had any kind of an opinion (or was at all interested). Worse yet, those who had paused to ask him for directions, despite the enormous plexiglass map done in primary colors not four inches to his left. He'd quickly decided that their chosen meeting place was not exactly conducive to his desire to stay out of sight, and was more than ready to leave it by the time Heero had showed up ( ... )

The mall was strangely silent at night, compared to the hustle and bustle of the open hours. He himself rarely ever saw fit to visit one, preferring to take his purchasing business to more upscale or private places, but tonight was something of an exception.

Edgeworth had been watching Odin for some time; the teenager had flat-out told him that he would not be allowed to bring in Sandrock under any circumstances--which meant that the other boy knew the young murderer.

Better yet, that he had some kind of attachment. Work, perhaps--but given their age, and the determination in the declaration he'd made, more likely a kind of friendship ( ... )

It had not been a particularly lucky week as of yet for him; he'd been beaten twice now and the suspects escaped. Despite the hurt that had already been put on him, Edgeworth was determined to prove that he could do this, that doing this was his choice and not that of some super-powered technopath capable of directing his movements. If he just kept going... if he could make it clear that he would do as he wanted, despite whatever abilities his hidden tormentor had, he would be all right. The City would be all right ( ... )
