Who: Robin (12yo), Robin III When: November 14 evening, after this log and reading this thread might help understand, too. Where: In the MAC Warnings: None. Summary: Dick meets Tim. Tim is the older brother. Format: Para-form
Tim had dropped everything the moment he got the message - even though the 'everything' was really just his work on counting the camreas in his apartment and examining the tags he'd been given - and ran straight out into the hallway to make his way to apartment 2402, navigating past the small sea of potato chips.
Once he got to the right floor, he slowed down, though his thoughts continued racing. How much would this Dick look liek the one from his home had at this age? How much would he act like him? What was Batman's plan? There were so many questions he wanted to ask, but he had to be careful if he expected to get any answers.
Cautiously, he made his way to the apartment door and knocked, lightly.
Dick had been expecting Tim and had told Wally about it. The man didn't seem to appreciate the fact Dick was going to take risks by walking around so early after his arrival but wasn't going to try to stop him.
He apparently trusted Tim, which meant these two were from the same universe.
As he was waiting for Tim to show up - which would probably not take a lot of time - he pondered on whether or not he should get in costume. A lot of people knew him as Dick Grayson, and others only as Robin, which made the choice difficult. He would probably develop a second secret identity whenever he was going to go back to Batman, too, like Batman had done.
He considered that Tim would, for his part, probably be in costume since people didn't keep writing his name on the board and no one seemed to want to kill him, which made the possibility of keeping his secret identity higher.
So he was going to be Robin, too. He was wearing the costume under his clothes and the parts that were missing were in his bag. He changed quickly, putting his

Even though he had had time to prepare himself after being told, repeatedly, about Dick's age on the board, actually seeing the younger-older Robin, in costume - it felt almost like his heart was ready to break. It brought back memories of wandering the Gotham streets with his camera, in the time after he'd realised Dick's secret identity and kept it close, like a warm, bright fact that just belonged to him. That had been ridiculous, of course - but he'd been young, younger than Dick was now.
God, he was so young.
Tim carefully kept these emotions out of his expression, setting his face into a smile for Dick's sake. "The rooftop, away from the cameras." And everyone else. He hesitated, almost reaching out to offer Dick his hand, but - it was too soon for that. Instead, he turned to lead the way to the roof.
Dick had spotted the cameras around in the MAC the first time he had been there but hadn't stayed long enough to actively look for them. The impressive number of cameras had made him realize that the armored guy who had 'welcomed' him was probably a paranoid control-freak.
He couldn't tell yet if he was as bad as Batman, but doubted so - being worse than Batman was something he didn't want to see.
Batman would have put cameras on the roof top, too.
Tim was older and had been a... Robin for longer than Dick, but he still didn't know him and that meant he couldn't assume he was any good.
"Did you look around or just guessed that no surveillance was installed on the roof?" he asked, following Tim to the stairs and knowing that his question may be taken as an insult if he had verified the roof, but, as stated earlier, he didn't want to assume anything.
