The streets signs flickered by in the early morning light, and Optimus kept an eye on them, making sure he didn't miss the turn.

There.

With a screech of tires, he turned the motorcycle down the avenue, and sped towards where Blackarachnia was running from a rather large monster. Or, at least it looked like she was trying. Optimus cut the ignition and skidded the bike to a halt, leaving it on the sidewalk. In one fluid motion, he ripped his helmet off, dumped it near the bike, and pulled out his axe, rushing for the beast.

He leaped at the thing, slicing a high, wide arc and driving the axe into the monster's back.

Blackarachnia stumbled, rather ungracefully, out of the way as Optimus attacked the monster. She sat there in the middle of the street, wide-eyed and cursing herself. She really needed a weapon of her own, "borrowing" others abilities didn't do her much good in situations like this.

The monster screamed as the force of the blow drove it into the ground. Optimus landed on it's back and pulled the axe out, frowning as blood gushed out from the cut. Hopefully it'd stay down.

"Are you okay?" he asked Blackarachnia, blue eyes glowing faintly. He tried not to look too concerned, but.

Some things were just hardwired in.

"I'm just fine." she replied as she started to push herself up only to land back on the asphalt. Blackarachnia reached for her left ankle, rubbing it. "Che...must have twisted the blasted thing..." she mumbled and attempted to get up again, this time keep weight off that leg.

"We'll find you a medic after we get rid of this thing. Can you use your webbing to get to higher ground?" he asked.

Of course, the creature took that moment to stand up and shake Optimus off. He landed hard on his behind, hissing in pain. Still, he shook it off, and dropped into a fighting stance as the monster turned around to face him. There was something disturbingly human about it, but Optimus brushed that thought aside. It was going to attack him, and he had to keep it from destroying anything or hurting anyone else.

Blackarachnia nodded and used her webbing to get up onto the side of a building. She watched from there, debating on just leaving or sticking around. Problem was if she left she could run into another one of those things or possibly something worse. Looks like her decision was made for her.

With Blackarachnia safely out of the way, that meant Optimus could go full out. The monster swung down, aiming to smash his skull in with a screech.

Optimus flung up his arms, and stopped the fist, his face set with determination as he grabbed the beast's hand. Optimus then pulled back, and launched the creature a block or two down the street effortlessly. It crashed into a mailbox and squealed in pain as it skidded across the asphalt.

Blackarachnia knew Optimus was stronger than any normal human here but she didn't think he was that strong. She shivered as she thought about what could have been done to the beast.

The beast groaned in pain as it tried to get up, and Optimus approached it slowly. Did he want to kill it, or just knock it out? It was a tough decision - life was life, after all, but if he only knocked it out, it would just wake back up later and continue hurting people.

For the greater good, he'd have to kill it. It left a bad taste in his mouth, but it was necessary.

Optimus rushed the beast, only to get smacked back several feet himself as it whipped around and swatted him away.

The Decepticon resisted the urge to jump down and actually help him. Obviously two with super strength versus one monster would be the logical route to go but...

"Oh slagit!" she hissed, jumping down from her perch. She ignored the pain that shot through her left leg as she made her way as quickly to Optimus as she could. "Don't say anything." she hissed at him as she used her downloading ability on him.

It was time to pay this thing back for chasing her around.

It was almost like old times.

No, Optimus pushed that thought aside. Even if she used to be Elita-1, she was Blackarachnia now, and once this was over, she'd probably poison him and run away. It kind of made Optimus question why he kept helping her.

Probably because Sentinel was right and he WAS a sucker.

Still, two super-strong humans were more than a match for this monster.

Blackarachnia would have been lying if she said she wasn't going to enjoy this. Her downloaded powers lasted only a short time she so wasn't about to waste any. She didn't wait for the beast to charge them, not that it wasn't of course.

There was a loud cracking noise as her fist connected with the the mutant's jaw. It gave a gargled howl of pain and swiped for her. She was unable to dodge due to her ankle complaining in pain every time weight landed on it.

In a flash, Optimus was there to block the huge fist swinging for Blackarachnia. He grasped the arm again, and this time, he yanked.

There was a sickening squelch and pop as the shoulder was dislocated, and then flesh separated. Optimus was sufficiently grossed out by the blood that spattered everywhere as he ripped the monster's arm clean off, but that at least stopped the monster from using that arm.

She stood in shock for a moment, watching, both disgusted and fascinated.

But of course the howls of pain snapped her back to reality. She turned, quickly throwing a kick into the beast's side. The cracking of ribs was heard along with another howl from the monster as it was sent flying.

"Tch, that was smart." Blackarachnia groaned as she squatted down and rubbed her ankle.

Optimus gave her a quick glance, just to make sure she was okay, before launching right back into the fight. By now, the mutant was whimpering in pain, and shied away from him like a frightened animal.

He felt kind of bad.

"Sorry," he said solemnly as he raised his axe once more, and buried it in the monster's forehead. It groaned, and fell over dead. Optimus grunted as he removed his weapon and dismissed it, frowning sourly at the copious amount of blood that was now all over the street. It was his first real fight as an organic, and well... robots didn't leak this much fluid. Part of him wanted to retch.

Blackarachnia watched, still rubbing her ankle. She cringed slightly at the noise the axe made as it crushed into the beast's skull. It reminded her of the sound the giant spider's exoskeletons made when she had tried to fight them off. She gulped, forcing her stomach to stay where it was.
