People think detective work is an adventure. And it can be. But detective work is about finding stuff. Finding anything. Often the most reliable cases were finding lost pets. This was not adventurous--although it could be heartbreaking if the pet could not be found. So when Mrs. Henderson called to describe to Maggie in detail little Jennikins favorite foods and activities and where she might have gone, Maggie decided to do her best to see if she could find her.

And so, Maggie was walking up the street, with a picture in one hand, and a rather chewed catnip mouse in the other. The picture, she stopped the occasional passerby to show them, though no one had seen her.

She was headed toward True Queen Seafood Palace. The trash bins attracted all sorts of strays of various species, and Jennikins was known to enjoy a good bit of flounder.
