/sneaks in PROBABLY ON THE 8TH I GUESS

[ In retrospect he'd thrown out Chinatown maybe a little too offhandedly, over the comm. But at the very least it's a tough street that's far enough outside his regular patrol circuit to be a little short on Bat-lore. A good place to test a newcomer. And a promise is a promise.

He's a little outnumbered with the twelve thugs he's taken on, though. Outnumbered, but not outdone yet. ]

[She'd thought she might run into Dick. She definitely hadn't expected to find him fighting eleven - no, twelve thugs. The first batarang is a throw rope, tangling the legs of a thug behind Dick, and then she drops more or less on a second one.]

Found a little more trouble than you expected?

[batmantled]

[ And just look who came calling. The voice at least is a little familiar. ]

Feel free to lend a hand.

[ A double strike from the escrimas takes care of two more, and he's working on number three with a more Nightwing-ish flip and dive. It's getting to be more comfortable, cape and all. ]

[She's starting to wonder when melee fights became the norm instead of the exception.]

I wouldn't dream of anything else.

[She wants escrima sticks, given how useful they look. But for now she settles for the age old mixture of punching a guy rushing her in the face and kneeing another in the groin, dropping to the ground to flip the one coming at her from behind. Two out of three on the ground isn't bad.]

[ Not bad. He makes short work of two more and takes a rough cut to the left, doubling back to help her finish off the last of the bunch. ]

Took your time showing.

[ Not really. But it is meant to be a test. ]

[The last one goes down with a judo flip she'd learned the other day on her lunch break. The internet and martial arts instructional videos were, she'd recently decided, the best things ever..]

I've been around. But I couldn't spend all my time hanging down here. Got a patrol to keep up.

[She kneels to take a look at one of the guys on the ground.]

Any particular reason you ended up in this fight, or just general evildoing?

Drug runners. I needed info on a supplier that they didn't want to give up.

[ He's getting the ring leader in zip ties while a few of the peons start running. Incidentally it also doubles as a neat opportunity to scrutinize her a little more up close. ]

[She cuffs a couple of the guys lying unconscious and checks their pulses.]

I'm familiar with it. It's a little different here than it is back home, but I've got the gist.

[ There's a little smirk while he ties another one off with a flourish. ]

Something we can talk about, if you want to tag along. [ He has a supply meeting to crash next, after all. ]

[She looks up. There's a moment of surprise that the mask mostly hides, and then she puts a last guy in cuffs before she stands up, smiling brightly.]

Nothing I'd like more. Where to?

[batmantled]

Southside. [ He already has a grapple out, ready and waiting. Giving her the out, if she wants to take it. ]

Think you can keep up?

[Grapples aren't really her line, but she's been working on building some. The less obvious future stuff she flaunts about, she figures, probably the better. She pulls hers out now.]

Sure can.

[batmantled]

[ So, not easily intimidated. Which means she's got the skills to back up the claims, or one heck of an oversized ego. He smirks again and then snaps the line back, taking a quick flip up and over the fire escape until he hits open air.

Time to figure out what she's all about. ]

[She's been watching every free running video she can get her hands on and practicing pretty constantly, so yeah, she's pretty confident about this bit. Except for the smirking thing, that seems a little nerves-making.

She follows him up. Her technique with a grapple leaves a little to be desired, perhaps, but it's not bad.

She can still barely restrain herself from yelling in joy when she swooshes through the air.]

[ It's a feeling he can relate to. A feeling he never wants to lose sight of again.

It's hard to resist a few quick direction shifts and dives just to see if she can follow the rhythm, but then he settles into a more even pace and drops back a little. ]

Beats the Batmobile any day.

[ She's not used to grapples enough to follow them quickly, but she keeps up with him. ]

Yeah. [ She grins. ] It really does.
