“Hello,” she says pleasantly enough, looking up. “Nice night to be out.”

Ah. And that was why he'd been watching her. Amazing how much attention one symbol could attract in a town. "I've met Cass. I'm Batwoman." She says it firmly, and then adds with a smile, "The second one."

She shrugs, a little apologetic. The secret identity thing does feel kind of weird sometimes, but it's important. "Sorry, codenames are - sort of important to Bats. Gotham rogues are a nasty bunch. But it's nice to meet you."

She sort of doubts it, but it's worth asking just in case.

No wonder Dick's set on knowing whether she can represent them well or not.

Well, so long as the definition of people who deserve it was a reasonable one. This guy seemed all right, though, and Max was going to go with her instincts on this.

For a bulky guy with a turtle shell (and she's not even going to ask about that), he moves quietly. She would lift an eyebrow, but the mask makes doing that a bit useless. "A little over a month. Not that long, yeah."

It's been good for her, in some ways. Most of the time she can even pretend she's back home. But she'd like to be Batwoman back home, in Gotham, protecting streets and people that are actually hers.
"I guess I have fallen into place pretty quickly," she admits. "Sometimes it almost feels normal." Never when she's flying though. That will never get old.
