[The Doctor always seems to know when something interesting is going on around the neighborhood, so when two fellows take a look at one of the flats in the building next door he was only too happy to say hello. Without even knocking, not like anyone lives there anyway, he opens the door]

[John was getting slightly more used to people appearing through walls, sometimes having lobster heads etc, but even with his accumulating experiences he still wasn't prepared for this latest intrusion. Not that it seemed a particularly dangerous one, but he still jumped a little in spite of himself, whirling round to look at the newcomer. ...Future neighbour. Whatever he was. John certainly hadn't agreed on this particular flat yet, although it did seem to be their best option so far...]

Oh! Hello, sorry- we were just... looking around.

[And a slightly awkward cough. Sherlock, rescue him, please.]

[Sherlock turned, expecting the landlord which had popped out to get something, and instead found the doctor. An eyebrow raised.]

Ah. An import, correct? I thought those Christmas lights looked familiar. [He offered his practiced smile.]

Sherlock Holmes, [He waved a hand at John.] Dr. John Watson.

[He looked between the two men and grinned wider. This place was always losing neighbors for some reason]

Oh, yes, I'm the Doctor.

[Stepping towards John he leaned forward a air kissed both cheeks before turning to do the same to Sherlock.]

[John blinked, stiffening to parade-rest in awkward automatic response- forcing himself to relax as soon as he could so as not to appear rude.]

...Right. Lovely to- And you live here?

No, I'm in the blue house next door. This building keeps losing tenants, but you two don't look like the sort to up and leave.

[John raised an eyebrow at the story. Well, that sounded like it might possibly pique Sherlock's interest. He offered the Doctor a mildly apologetic smile.]

I'm- Well, I'm a doctor. Ex army doctor. And Sherlock--

[He looked over to the detective wryly.]

Ex-army? Well that's not so bad. Jack is ex...something.

[He takes this opportunity to nose about the place]

[A mildly uncomfortable pause follows as John attempts to come up with a suitable response.]

It's... nice, yes. Probably bigger than the others within our budget we've looked at.

Oh, no, just a normal flat. You can never tell with places in the city.

[He walking into the kitchen and yells out]

You have a dishwasher! Make sure it doesn't try and escape!

...Escape? [He blinks, bewildered by the sudden appearance of the Doctor's sonic screwdriver and subsequent whirl into the kitchen- utterly unsure if he should follow or not. Good god, he's found someone madder than Sherlock. It is possible. He decides to stay exactly where he is, calling back rather than moving out of Sherlock's sight.]

Dishwashers escape now?

[He's suddenly in John's space scanning him with the sonic]

Well, it tries too, but that's why I have rope!

[Presumably, Jack has been dragged along by the Doctor for lack of anything better to do. He gives both Sherlock and John a slightly resigned look and a bit of a grin.]

Hallo. Sorry about the lights.

[Sherlock smirked with recognition at that particular face.]

Jack. Good to see you awake at a reasonable hour. [He tipped his head towards the Doctor.]

[Sherlock pauses as the Doctor races into the kitchen. Oh he noticed the screwdriver, but he doesn't say anything about it.]
