One's a secret agent who doesn't play by the rules. The other... hm.

WHO: Jack Bauer and James Bond
WHERE: Near the City's Port.
WHEN: Evening of Friday the 25th
WARNINGS: Violence
SUMMARY: Jack asked James to do some investigating outside the law for him. This turns into a car chase.
FORMAT: Paragraph to start, whatever after that.

A crooked gun store owner with a family connection in the National Guard was a good way for firepower to end up in the wrong hands. This particular individual had been about to be convicted for his dealings in 2008, before the disappearance of the original police force wiped out all evidence and records that would have kept him out of business. Jack didn't want that to happen again, so when the cops got a tip that this guy was meeting with some new mob group to discuss business, he acted on it. And when the courts told him he couldn't get a warrant on the evidence he had, he gave James a call.

Tonight Jack was just cruising around the neighbourhood a few blocks away from the house where the meeting was taking place, waiting. He was in plainclothes and a plain car- the ugliest, brownest, most unnoticeable outdated rental he could find that was still serviceable enough for his work. He knew that if he got caught going outside the law on this one, he and the entire force would get a lot of trouble they did not need. But it had to be done, to keep these new players from arranging a supply of weapons. So while he was technically off-duty, Jack was driving around with a gun in his holster, just in case James' unofficial spying mission went wrong.
