He didn't last long at all.
Barely an hour into his shift, Jaime's head was on the desk, arms curled around it and his elbow bumping the keyboard. Had he not twitched in his sleep, his document on the screen would've had three times as many spaces and wild sets of z's and x's.
Scarab was being no help at all. Why should it? There was no danger to getting a bit of sleep, as far as it was concerned.

It's become habit for Kara to pick up some blueberry muffins and a portable box of coffee before she comes into work. Or, if it's a day where she was working at the café before hand, she'll sometimes bring bagels. After all, as much as she loves muffins, they aren't exactly the best post-lunch food.
Today is a muffin day. And today is a day where she laughs quietly once she spots Jaime.
She gives him a few minutes to sleep while she puts her stuff where it needs to go and, as quietly as she can, pours two cups of coffee. She tip-toes over to him, then, placing the coffee on his desk and carefully reaching out to put her hand on his shoulder, just a little wary of any possible reflex reactions that could happen from her waking him up.

Fairly dead to the world, Jaime didn't stir right away. It took a little extra, more internal goading compounded with the external to get him to fidget, grunting muffled against his arm. He turned his head, looking a little offended by the room's florescent lighting by keeping his eyes clamped shut.
"Mnuh..." He scowled while blinking, bleary-eyed and not utterly sure of where he was. "Uh...huh?"
Kara smothers a giggle with her hand when he blinks and nudges the coffee cup in his direction. Tired people waking up would probably never lose it's amusement factor, and even though she felt a little bad for finding it amusing, Kara couldn't help but smile.
"Good morning, Jaime. Have some caffeine, you look like you could use it."
There was a short, surreal moment right before snapping back into reality. Blonde, blue eyes...For a second, Jaime's heart stopped.
But his brain kicked back into the right gear, and he exhaled, shaking it off and pulling a wincing smile.
"Hey, uh...Sorry about that." He shot a glance at his computer screen, swiping hair out of his eyes before sending his hand over to jiggle the mouse and catch glimpse of the clock. "Oh, wow. Okay...At least I didn't sleep through my whole shift, huh?"

At least his snoring was muffled.
