[Vic is seated in a very small, pitch-black room. The walls are bare, there are no windows, and the only feature is a large, steel door. He's seated on the floor, legs crossed, eyes closed: doing his best to ignore the banging sound just outside.]

[ the first thing eames does is turn on a flashlight.the door is wide open behind him, and escape route of sorts, although there really is no backtracking, just a headlong tumble into another dream. he's no architect, or rather, that isn't his specialty, but even at risk of bringing the dream down on his head, he'd add in lights if he could.

eames likes to know what he's facing. ]

[Vic moves up a hand to shade himself as his eyes readjust to the light.]

You probably shouldn't be in here. This is where they keep the monsters.

[There's a pounding noise on the door, which suddenly looms much larger than before. Or maybe it's Vic who's suddenly smaller.]

What sort of monsters?

[ this is quickly becoming the theme of the evening. eames isn't sure if that is a good or bad things. ]

[Vic rises up from the floor and dusts off his trousers. If something was coming through that door, he may as well be ready to face it.]

I used to think they put me in here because I was the monster. These days I can never tell which is which in this scenario.

[The pounding ends with a loud BANG against the door, but breathing can be heard from the other side, and an occasional muffled sound somewhere between clicking and whispering.]

[ eames takes his gun from the holster and switches off the saftey, on the off-chance the door fails them. ]

Well, I never worked too hard to dispel it.

[The door was unfortunately designed more to keep things in this room than to bar their entry, so they could come in whenever they liked. And by the whisper of "Time's up, Charles" from the other side, one might think they were considering it.]
