She'd been on her way to catch up with Garrus and Grunt at the coordinates that they'd dropped to her communicator when she'd been interrupted by the large mass of Crabhammers -- and Veronica (or at least, she was pretty sure it was Veronica) in the middle of them. She couldn't very well just leave her friend there by herself, could she? Even if Veronica wouldn't recognize her in her normal quarian environmental suit -- well, she wanted to help.

"Get out there, Daemon!" She knew the verbal command wasn't necessary now that the drone was so closely tied to her, but it was an old habit that died hard. Besides, when working with others it was important to designate which drones were friendly and which weren't. The little purple drone zipped to Veronica's side and gave one of the Crabhammers a sizable electric shock -- her drone had distracted krogan before, and these beasts seemed ... comparable in some ways. She sprinted her way over to the other woman as the drone pushed farther into the mass of creatures, turning her head so that she could look at Veronica directly.

"It looked like you could use a little help. I can't have my dinner partner getting crushed." Now that she was next to the other woman, she lifted her shotgun from its holster and started firing blasts into the nearest creature.

She was glad to see that Veronica recognized her even if she wasn't in her usual garb. This circumvented the problem of figuring out how best to show her friend what she really looked like nicely, she supposed. The little drone zipped back toward them again for a moment as Veronica mentioned it, until Tali shot it a sharp glance that suggested it should probably pay attention. The thing narrowly dodged a swing from one of the Crabhammers.

"That's -- Daemon," for Ghost had finally convinced her that she should probably name the thing, and his suggestion had been as solid as any, "consider him an extension of my battle skill, at this point." Now wasn't the time to explain that she generated drones spontaneously from her body -- she flicked her gaze down to the map on her omni-tool.

"Where are you headed? I'm planning to go farther into the fray to meet up with the rest of my team." She'd be happy to escort her friend to wherever it was she needed to go, though, or just help her clear the streets for a while if that was what she needed.

Tali took an appraising glance around the street. There was an alleyway not too far up the street on the left. She pursed her lips behind her mask -- there'd probably be dumpsters in there. Once Veronica swung at the Crabhammer, she slid forward to finish it off with a few more bursts of bullets.

"If I can distract a whole bunch of them down that alley, they'll be forced to funnel in almost one at a time. It's too narrow for them to go in pairs or anything like that -- I can pick off a whole lot of them like that as long as I don't run out of thermal clips." She looked over to the drone, then.

"And Daemon can blow himself up, if need be. It'll be a nice burst-damage to start whittling down their numbers, or at least slowing some of them down."

She shrugged her shoulders. "It regenerates in a few minutes. That's -- part of what this places lets me do."

After a moment of thinking, though, she nodded. "All right. I think that'll work -- we can at least thin them out a little so the cavalry can squeeze in."

"You could try, I'm not sure how that would work. I -- think it would, at least."

Tali blinked, jumping back a bit more quickly than you'd expect from a human before nodding.

"Right, then. We should probably get this taken care of sooner than later, huh?"

Daemon did as it was told to, zipping down the alley after Veronica and doing its best to keep up with her erratic movement patterns. For her part, Tali started to circle back in order to make a wide loop around the creatures, waiting for the alley to fill up with a few dozen of them before she rolled forward to spray them with a hail of bullets.

The drone stayed in the centre of the herd, firing off its own electric blasts until a not-so-small explosion erupted from the middle of the group, creating a spray of bright blood and gore.

Hn. She mentally started counting out the cooldown time, waiting for the drone to pop up again at her side.

It was going to take some planning to get that thing to fall -- unfortunately, she didn't have any plasma grenades or anything of that sort to throw at the thing. She shifted from her spot behind the Crabhammers and waited impatiently for her drone to pop up -- then she started heading toward the building that had the water tower on it.

It took some hoisting to get herself to the roof, and it took her a little longer than she'd been hoping -- but soon enough she was close enough to shoot the supports until they were flimsy at best.

Then she booked it back down the fire escape and into what she deemed a safe spot, leaving her newly-spawned drone at the tower to -- well -- blow up again.

It wasn't like the thing had feelings.

The extra time had let the Crabhammers jam themselves packed into the alley, and when the explosion went off -- the tower fell more or less where it was supposed to, give or take a few shards of shrapnel that barely missed Tali.

"Not bad!" She shouted up toward Veronica, making sure she kept an eye on the woman.

"What sort of an engineer would I be if I couldn't figure out a few basic trajectories based on balance and mass?" She chuckled, ignoring the frustrated chatter from the drone next to her. Apparently it didn't really appreciate being blown up consecutively like that.

She brought her hand to her ear to listen to a transmission on the frequency that Garrus had given her. "I -- should go, though. I think I've got a little more work to do with my squadron."
