Julian didn't hunt drug dealers. Not exclusively, anyway. If they happened to be stupid enough to deal where he could see them, he'd take them in. Usually he looked for gangs, groups of thugs who guns around back streets and nightclubs. Sometimes he double-teamed with Raph; tonight he was out alone, but that didn't stop him from wanting to live up to the whole 'hero' deal he'd been playing to since he got here.

Tracking criminal types from the air was his preference since the average City-dwelling criminal didn't have the advantage of flight on their side. But thanks to the neon green glow that accompanied his telekinesis, flying could sometimes draw attention. So he was alternating between rooftops and the street, until eventually he looked for the next roof and saw a familiar figure already on it. He turned into an alley and floated up to the roof, landing at the opposite side to Laura and coming up on her. He wasn't worried she'd attack him; her senses were second to none, so he figured she'd recognize him. It took him a second to identify the group she had her eye on, but he frowned and crouched beside her.

"What's their deal?"

Laura was used to tracking Julian by the green of his powers, so she almost missed his initial arrival on the roof, noticing the smell a few moments later, and then the familiar combination of scents that was 'Julian.' She shifted faintly as he approached, turning without really moving so her attention was split between him and the figures on the ground.

They'd never really had a chance to do this, back home. Just go and stop someone you knew was bad. Even when they had been going after the mutant haters, it had been breaking rules and with a whole group.

"Dealing." She answered finally, shifting her attention back to the criminals. "Cocaine, mostly."

Back home, he wouldn't have been able to do this. He'd have been too bound by what he was caught up in, by what rules the X-Men set. That wasn't the case here. He didn't have to wait for anyone's orders here. The whole point of being here was to play hero, according to the Porter. So he didn't see the point in hanging around the sidelines. He'd always hated doing that anyway. He'd rather be taking the fight straight to idiots like this.

Last time he and Laura had fought together, things had been a little different. He'd barely known her then. But he'd learned pretty quick that she wasn't big on hesitating, or holding back.

"What're you waiting for, evidence?"

"No," Laura wasn't sure how to answer that. She considered the alley below them for a long few silent moments, listening to the two men talk about nothing, and then shifted her gaze back to Julian.

"I usually wait until they've earned more money." She finally explained.

He looked confused, since that meant she was letting them deal. Which seemed kind of counterproductive to the whole crimestopping nature of this escapade.

And then he gets what she means.

"The drugs aren't what you're after." He didn't entirely agree with that. "If we took them now, we could bag what they're selling before they get the chance."

"No," she said with a shrug. They weren't, frankly. Laura was a realist. Just because they stopped two people from dealing didn't mean anything, there'd be two more tomorrow. It was the nature of things like that...as long as there was a consumer base, people would sell.

"If you wish to stop them now, we can." She added after a moment.

Hey, it wasn't as if patience had ever been a strong point of his.

"I say we stop them, and go find their friends," he said. If the money was all she wanted, then hitting up more than one group would cover that angle. "What do you do with them when you take them down?"

"Call the police and tell them where they are," Laura actually had a pretty decent system going. She beat them up, took their money, threw their drugs in whatever trash can was close enough, and then called the cops on their cell phones and left them to get caught.

"We can stop them now, then."

"Works for me." Julian nodded. That familiar flare of green energy appeared around him and he flew to the roof of the building opposite so they could close in from both sides. He'd back Laura up; this was her show.

Laura waited until Julian had moved away some before she slid silently off the edge of the roof, dropping onto a windowsill ledge and then catapulting herself towards the ground.

She caught the man just above the shoulders, using her weight to drive him forward into the ground with a heavy, wet thud, and then turned as she rolled to check the other.

Julian waited until she moved, partly because he was waiting for her signal - which in Laura's case meant an attack - and partly because his energy signature would likely alert the junkies to what was going on. Though, maybe they'd just assume it was a bad trip. Julian wasn't sure if it worked that way. His personal vices had never extended to include drugs, though he'd been tempted once or twice. Truth was, anything that could wreck his body like drugs would, wasn't on the radar for him.

These guys didn't seem to have anything on their radar. They were sailing blind, so maybe that bright green flash wouldn't have caught their attention anyway. He jumped off the room, slowing his fall with his powers. As soon as he hit the ground he threw the junkie Laura had left alone against the building's side, and held him there. He searched the man's pockets until he withdrew a wallet, plus whatever bags of drugs this guy had on him.
