I hope this is alright...and that Rorschach likes other gingers... emperorshand September 19 2011, 00:38:01 UTC
She'd really just been meandering around the city. She did that often enough. She'd taken to wandering the city streets in nothing but her prowling leathers, and no weapons. She liked danger.

So in the crisp September (that was the month, if she remembered right) air, she was really just looking for a fight. Or maybe just someone to take down. Muggers, undesirable elements. Anything like that, actually.

Aha... Rorschach doesn't like any... one... lksdf BUT YES THIS IS PERFECT *^* uncompromises September 19 2011, 01:56:08 UTC
All hyperaware and tense like he was, he spotted her before too long. And he was immediately reminded of all those old photographs of the Minutemen, Silhouette in all her leather clad fetish wear. His mind recoiled at the thought, even if he was curious why anyone might dress like her so far from Halloween.

He watched her for a long moment, but just before he'd finally steeled himself to talk to such a woman as that, his attention was drawn by a sound. Something truly familiar, hitting him between the eyes like it always had. The sound of struggling, trying to scream around a hand or a bit of cloth. Mugging? Kidnapping?

Perhaps. Didn't matter, as he cast the odd woman one last glance and set off in the opposite direction.

Excellent! emperorshand September 19 2011, 02:37:42 UTC
She'd felt the curious zing of a presence behind her, but heard him just as much as she'd felt. It wasn't anything to worry herself about, and she'd been happy to ignore the guy, until there was the sound of trouble.

She was fast, and she followed the sound, before she noticed the other guy, the new one was moving in the same directly. Stang, she hadn't liked working with others here since her time with the Avengers. It wasn't anything to worry about, though. Her boots slammed against the pavement, and she lost herself in the run toward the noise, her eyes catching on the figure in the trench coat no more than a few yards away.

Something like surprise struck once he realized she was headed the same place he was. Perhaps it was more then a costume. An imitator? Another soul attempting to defy government mandate. Finally.

And then his eyes found the all too familiar shape of shadows clashing down an alleyway, and he paused only a slim moment to see if she would follow before vanishing around the corner, finding one of the attackers in the tangle, and joining the fight.

Mara wasn't too far behind, but she slowed, letting him dash forward and around the corner. She stopped, and listened, and felt with the force, before she waited for just the right moment to slide around the corner with a single fist, going straight for the throat of the first hostile she was able to snag. When he recoiled, she slid right back around with a hand and tugged him back to her purchase point for a quick, efficient snap of the neck.

He noted her movement, the quickness of her work, the sudden snap of the neck. It almost caught him off-guard. There were so few of them who did not actively frown at that sort of violence... He wondered briefly if she'd killed him.

Still, there were more important things to attend to at the moment, the satisfying snap of a dislocated shoulder and the dull crunch of ribs breaking. The high pained shriek that inevitably followed. These sort rarely deserved to die, so when it was over, he only left the two bodies where they had dropped, and went to searching through the grimy dark for the victim's wallet. If this leather clad woman cared to talk, she could have the first word as far as he was concerned.

Meanwhile, said victim stayed huddled against the wall, probably looking for the next way out after that particular scene!

now that notifs work again... emperorshand September 22 2011, 03:54:12 UTC
Mara was more focused on the woman than the other guy for the moment. Her danger senses weren't pinging, and she stepped over to them, laying a hand on their shoulder. "Hey, calm down," she mentioned. She rarely used the Force for anything more than what was necessary, but in this situation, the small push of awareness helped the person stop cowering and let their logic flow back in line.

With that done, she stood up. The last thing she needed was an unknown vigilante and a terrified victim at the same time. That in particular was a recipe for disaster. She turned to the other guy. A mask. Stang, she hated masks.

"You are?"

He was silent for a time, eventually returning from his rummaging and offering the lady her wallet. At the back of his mind he noted how quickly she'd calmed, chalked it up to feminine intuition or something, and filed it away for later curiosity.

"Rorschach," he finally answered, tucking his hands into his coat pockets now that the victim had freed up his hand, and crossing the brief space to the criminal this new woman had dropped. "Intended to kill him?"

if we shove it enough, eventually it will work! emperorshand September 22 2011, 04:12:24 UTC
She looked from the live man to the other, and then back to Rorschach. "Of course. It's the most expedient way to eliminate the target, and ensure the safety of the civilian," her voice slipped from her more casual, spacer inflections to the cold imperial standard she'd grown up with.

"Import, right?" she asked. It was obvious, but who knew? After the past few months, she had a feeling it could happen.

sounds like perfect logic to me!!! uncompromises September 22 2011, 04:19:49 UTC
The shift in her voice drew his attention and he looked at her for the first time he'd spotted her, mask forming a curious waver along the edges of the black.

Import? That she could come up with a term for... this... so easily set him ever so slightly on edge, though it didn't show in his voice nor through the manner layers of his clothes.

"Am not commodity to be shipped where needed."

She laughed softly, and adjusted on her feet, from ready for action to a more casual position, leaning against a wall. "No, none of us are. It's not exactly something any of us want," she explained. "We're here because someone thinks this is the best way to solve problems. I guess they didn't realize it causes more than it solves."

The mask itself was more than curious. Her eyes focused on it, trying to figure out what it was, or what it did.

The mask just continued swirling, black lazily shifting across his face, not revealing anything to her at all. This was likely made worse by his own unbroken stare, meeting her eyes as long as she cared to look at him.

"Who? What problems?"
