[Homeroom is pretty worthless, right? You can pretty much ignore everything the teachers and the announcements say. Best class!]

Random 8th Grade Home(stuck)room - Open!

Tavros had come to school wearing his best new clothes. Shopping with Kanaya and Nepeta had actually been fun, once Tavros got used to so many people (two) paying so much attention to him. Also, his bookbag is his new favorite thing, so all in all he was starting the day out feeling pretty good about himself!

Where to...sit, though?

Next to Jade, duh! She beams when she sees him and waves him over enthusiastically.

OH GOOD! Yay! Tavros does not skip over, but it's a near thing, and takes a desk right next to hers.

"Hi Jade!"

Look, they could hang out without anything traumatic happening! How awesome was that? ...Granted they'd just started hanging out, but this was a school, surely nothing traumatic ever happened to a student here. :D!

I think he's the only 7th grader BUT OH WELL

[Oh look. He is not only way older than everyone in this room but he also towers above them all. At least the desk isn't an awkward fit.

He'll just... sit at the back of the class and try to ignore the fact that every kid in the room is looking at him.]

[On Friday there's a new student in class, who looks very happy to be there. He sits at the back too.]

Hi there!

[He's determined to make friends with all of his classmates, no matter how strange. After all, he's the kid with yellow eyes.]

[Baroona glances at the new kid, surprised by the enthusiasm. He nods in response to the greeting.]

Hey.

[He's not the most social person.....]

{The Monster's completely undeterred by such a lackluster response.]

What's your name?

Baroona.

[He turns his eyes to the front of the class as the teacher starts to speak, realizes he doesn't really care, and turns back to New Student #1]

I'm called Monster. Nice to meet you! [Because that's a totally real name and not suspicious at all.]

So this is school, huh? Have you ever been to school before?

[broroona]

No.

[But he'd rather not talk about that with someone he just met.]

Is your real name Monster?

[gatewhatgate]

Me neither!

Oh, no. I don't have a real name. Everybody calls me Monster, so it's fine.

[broroona]

[Oh. That's... odd.]

Why don't you have a name?

[gatewhatgate]

Um. [What an odd question! Although not that weird, everybody else had a name. He considered it.]

I never had one. It wasn't until recently that anyone thought I should have a name, 'cause back home I didn't need one.

[broroona]

Why not?

[gatewhatgate]

I guess if I needed a name, they'd have given me one, right?

[He's starting to feel uncomfortable, so he changes the subject. He gestures to a map of the world on the wall.]
