Tom had asked Laura out like this on an impulse, in the middle of one of their training sestions. She'd punched him in the gut immediately after, then accepted, and now here he was, actually feeling a bit nervous for once. Not that he was particularly worried about things going well, but he actually did want things to be good for once, and he'd certainly never done anything like this before.
Which is why the bag he'd brought contained beer and pizza, among a few other things. He'd tried to cook, but yeah, he definitely wasn't good at that. It was the thought that counted though, right?
