A Touch of Exploration
WHO: Ginny Weasley and Open

SUMMARY: Now that Ginny has been here a while, she thinks it's about time she gets to know the City she's in. She's going exploring.

It didn't take Ginny too long to come to the conclusion that she really quite likes New York. It was all a bit strange at first, of course, this huge City full of people all going around in a very Muggle way, using strange paper money and wearing things like business suits and hats that talked about some sort of 'baseball' team. All of that was still very strange. Acclimatising was difficult, particularly since she didn't want to just ask a bunch of strangers what those hats were all about. These were things that people were expected to know.
And besides, she was curious. She wanted to explore for herself, find things out for herself.
New York was excellent for that, really. There was so much to see. Today she visited the Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State Building, and all that sort of touristy thing. There were long waits for some of the sights, so she didn't go inside them all; she just observed from a distance, and wandered around the streets trying to get used to where everything was. She had a map of the City which she didn't entirely understand, but she also had her wand in her pocket. If things got really bad, and she was genuinely lost, she'd just sneak into a back alley and sneakily tell the wand to point out North. Then she'd be all right again.
For the most part, she moved from the popular tourist zones to the shopping areas and back again, trying to take it all in.
