WHO: Karkat Vantas and Jade Harley WHERE: The kids' house! WHEN: Verrry early Monday morning. Like 2 am early. WARNINGS: Karkat's mouth, Jade's derp, the usual. SUMMARY: Karkat comes to visit Jade, yay!
Jade lets out a huff when the insistent ringing starts, nearly tripping over her stupid skirt in her rush to get to the door. Jeez, this jerk is going to wake the whole house up.
It's no real shock when she opens the door to find Karkat.
"Oh, right! Special leader duties." She shoots him a grin. "I really am sorry I worried you. If I could have let you know I was leaving, I would have."
There's a pause as she just sort of... Looks at him for a second, as though considering something. Then she smiles again and steps forward to hug him tightly.
Yeah, right, Karkat. You are such a bad liar. She's not okay, not totally, but she gives him a squeeze and nods, regardless. "I'm fine! Aren't I allowed to hug you? Jeeeez."
Okay, Karkat, okay. Jade pulls back and shrugs, glancing away for a second. She honestly isn't sure if she should tell him. This place is outside paradox space, apparently, and she certainly didn't remember anything about the City when she was back in their Session, but... She really, really hates talking about future stuff.
She almost does want to talk about it, though, because every time she allows her mind to wander, it supplies her with a stark image of Dave, riddled with bullet holes and bleeding. He's fine here, she knows, perfectly safe, but they're all going to go home eventually, aren't they? There's no avoiding what's going to happen.
So Jade shrugs, rocking back on her heels as she considers his question. "Um... Complications is... One way of saying it."
She nods, shifting her weight awkwardly and crossing her arms, as well. "Rose and Dave both..." Jade trails off, glancing up at him again. Once more, she hesitates, looking torn for a long moment before plowing ahead again. "Jack got them."
"No. Well, yes, but..." She lets out a frustrated sigh. "John revived Rose and I revived Dave, but they're on Derse." And they've got this awesome plan for a suicide mission, which Jade still really doesn't want to think about.
Jade nods, chewing on her bottom lip as she considers this. "Yes." But what if they get sent back? She doesn't want them to die at all, even if they'll revive.
"Er, you helped me a lot. With Dave, I mean. Thank you, Karkat."

"But, I mean, you helped calm me down, too!" She frowns again, trying not to think of how much she freaked out. It was kind of embarrassing, to be honest, and a little bit pathetic. Like panicking had helped Dave at all. "I'm sorry about that. I shouldn't have gotten so upset." It was exactly what Jadesprite would have done.

Oddly enough, it's almost a relief to admit.
