Alright, so it isn't exactly a date, but there will be dinner and dancing! As promised, Jack has shown up at Sally's doorstep to spirit her away into the night. Or, more likely, to attempt to wine and dine her at a great swing club he's found in the theater district. He arrives at 7 PM sharp, dressed in the nicest clothes he can get his hands on (and that still look vaguely period), including his coat. So what if it's summer? He knows it looks great on him, and he enjoys impressing people. He knocks at the door and settles back with a grin on his face, waiting for Sally to open the door.
