The Battle for Central Park blacktearqueen August 10 2011, 17:02:28 UTC
After the fighting yesterday, Ophelia's troops have pulled back to the park itself, but they're doing a heck of a job holding it from the rest of the city. There are brides projecting clouds out into other parts of the city and grave diggers using anything they can get their hands on as weapons. Rats are swarming about, and Ophelia's murder of crows occasionally shows up to peck some unsuspecting person to death. Fighting is fast, hard and intense, but it's almost over! Ophelia's stage rests inside the park, next to the Sunwell, and she and her forces are waiting...

[ Getting so tired of the rats.

Julian is irritated and tired, which is making him more irritated. At least it looks like they might be winning now, maybe. ]

[Mike wants a bath. And not a bath in blood, or rats. Or bloodied rats. A bath with warm water and nothing but warm water. Maybe a rubber duckie, but certainly NO RATS.]

I'm sick of bad guys hangin' on metal anyway. Can they say 'stereotype'? [ Then again, looking at them, they probably can't. ]

Okay, screw this. I'm taking those crows down. [ He's tired of them trying to peck his shoulders off. He flies up into the middle of them and starts trying to literally throw them to the ground to knock them out. ]

[In an effort to fight back against the Heavy Metal Onslaught, Mike has begun to sing Rupert Homes' immortal classic, "Escape."]

[Attacking the City was fair game, but attacking one of Baroona's parks? Wreaking havoc in a place he had called home? Unforgivable.

Needless to say once he had heard the location of the recent attack, he had made his way down. Now, he ran about the park, dodging rats, birds and killing anyone or anything who helped spread the mayhem.]

Ophelia sat on a twisted black metal throne at the center of her battle stage, which rose above the tree line like something out of a gothic nightmare. It was metal, twisted and barbed, covered in black and purple slashes and thorns that twisted around all the metal edges, making them seem sharper and darker. Purple fog roiled out around it, blanketing the area in a twisted twilight glow. There was no music playing, not yet, as Ophelia waited. She could feel her soldiers dying, and she sent out the call, drawing her best back to her. The Tree Back hunched in front of the stage, while two Lightning Rods were parked on either side of it, their engines idling quietly. Ophelia glanced at Illidan nearby and started to say something, then just rolled her eyes and turned away. Around the stage dozens of grave diggers and brides stood, waiting, the crowd punctuated by the occasional tall, hunched figure of a Ratgut ( ... )

Geddoe watched this scene from a distance, crouching in a thicket behind a tree and trusting to the day's shadows to hide him. Tracking down this setup hadn't been hard at all, but he wasn't going to make a move until he had investigated the situation fully. And now that Ophelia herself was there, he was starting to think the time had come.

First, though, he needed to call some backup. This army was too much for one man.

Then, Wild Geese whispered from its sheath.
