Nataku nodded to him as he approached, body tense. As much as she tried to act like she didn't need anyone, she was not used to being a lone. On the colony she had been surrounded by her family, here she could at least come home to Wufei. She didn't want to admit she felt lost without him, but Nataku couldn't turn down the chance to be around someone after spending the last few days holed up in their old apartment.

"Afternoon." Her voice was still gruff. "I trust you've been well."

"I have been, thank you." Lion-O nodded. He couldn't imagine what she might've felt.... but he was going to do his best to cheer her up.

"How have you been holding up?"

She looked away, focusing somewhere too the right of Lion-O rather then look him in the eye. "I can handle it."

Oof... didn't look like that helped any. Clearly she didn't want to get too into it. Now what? Lion-O thought a little, visually stroking his chin in the stereotypical way. He knew what cheered him right up in this place and the idea was also visible in his eyes. "...How do you feel about ice cream?"
