WHO: Tom Bronson + OPEN WHERE: the bar WHEN: all week WARNINGS: none SUMMARY: Tom now owns the bar, and everyone gets their first drink free for the first week. FORMAT: quick
[Julian is here out of curiosity, mainly. He's even sticking closer to the law than usual and hasn't ordered anything alcoholic yet. He's doing his usual and finding a booth near the back to sit in, and for now just watches the crowd.]
[Even thought the bar was a bit far from the far back booths, it didn't take long for Tom to notice that Julian sneaked in and was sitting alone. He and Tom still weren't on the best terms, but after their sparring session, he wanted to think that maybe things were just a little more comfortable, and that hopefully booze could handle the rest.]
What do you like to drink? [He asks curiously as he walks over to Julian's table.]
[Julian looks up and gives Tom a nod. Things have been better since the spar, yeah. Weird how it went that way sometimes, but at least he wasn't doing the crazy awkward thing anymore.]
Hey. Nice place you got here. [On the subject of drinks, he has no idea if you'll card him or not :| ] Beer mostly. But I'm good with coke.
[Tom doesn't say anything in response to the drink request before he turns around and walks back to the bar, leaving Julian to wonder which one he'd get, if anything.
When he returns, though, he carries two large mugs with the best beer on draft, setting one of them down in front of Julian before taking a seat.]
Most of them can't tell with imports anyway, since we come in all types, but if anyone asks, you're definitely over twenty-one. [He grins and takes a sip of his beer]
[Julian watches him go, wondering what the result of all this is going to be. There are others in here who Julian knows aren't reaching that age limit - including some who are further from it than he is - but he doesn't know what they're drinking and besides which, they don't have an established Girl-Related Rivalry with the owner.
But when Tom comes back with beer, Julian's face just breaks into a genuine grin and he laughs softly. Tom has a way of making it very difficult not to like him.] Thanks. [He raises his glass to Tom and takes a sip of beer.] So, opening night going well? You got a good crowd in.
[It's just part of his charm. That and he has a need to try and keep people around him.] No problem, man. I figure as long as the place doesn't get too much attention, you can drink here anytime. What's the point of owning a place like this if I can't drink with people I like?
[He shrugs and takes a drink.] Yeah, it's going great. It turned out way better than I expected, actually.
[Julian is kind of surprised to be included in that category of people Tom likes, but it's a feeling that's starting to be mutual. God, if this continues he might start thinking his preconceptions of people aren't always right. That'd be a turn up for the books.]
That's good. Seems like a good place. [With a grin] And I'm not just saying that cause you're cool about not carding me. You're gonna be busy as hell, working here and the Dojo.
Huh. You’re a fitness guy, I would’ve had you pegged as an early riser. Still, you’re workin’ like, two jobs more than I am. I need to find one. First time for everything I guess.
[Okay, he can't help but laugh at that.] You're kidding, right? Only a year or go, my two primary activities were smoking and drinking, and that only really changed because my pops is a stubborn ass about me being a hero. I'm only doing this stuff now because I started getting restless.
Dude, you’re working in a dojo, teaching classes. And besides, I fought you. I know you’re good. [ He shrugs. ] I didn’t figure you were new to the hero deal.
If you had met me a year ago, I wouldn't even have been able to throw a proper punch. I didn't want to be a fighter or anything, then, and I probably still don't now, but... [He shrugs.] I have my reasons.
Since I went to Xavier’s, I guess. Though mainly it was training then, learning to fight. Most of us wanted to be X-Men. Got kinda real a couple years back when we kept being attacked. These days it’s pretty much half in half.
[Sofia spots Julian pretty quickly when she comes in, and pauses to order two cokes and brings them over. She slides into the booth opposite him and pushes one of the drinks across.

Hey! I didn't know you were coming, Sofia. I guess it is, Tom videoed about it a while back. He owns the place now.
