All things truly wicked...

Aug 02, 2011 12:10

WHO: Maggie (origamiguardian) and Lust (insineration)
WHERE: The cold dark streets of the City
WHEN: Late at night, some night recently (let's say Friday the 29th unless that doesn't work)
SUMMARY: Maggie thinks she's following a murderer. Well, she is, but she's not following the one she's looking for.
WARNINGS: None at the moment.
FORMAT: Para to start, whatever to follow

Maggie had asked around and done her best to find her dark-haired female suspect, but she was more used to tailing lost documents (or pets) than people. The store owner in the Bronx wasn't helpful with details--a young white woman with dark hair wasn't much to go on--although weapon wise and with some kind of power to phase or teleport oneself did narrow things down.

She was still checking into odd weapons shops and antique stores--it was possible the perpetrator may have cleaned and sold back the murder weapon after using it. The last store was a bust--although it did have an utterly fascinating antique book collection that had Maggie browsing until after dark, the old fellow who owned the place not having the heart to kick her out for the look of passion in her eyes for the books. She did purchase one of the books and left into the shadowy streets--what seemed like a quaint and well built corner of the City looked very gloomy after dark.

And then she spotted her---an elegant looking, young, dark haired woman. She didn't look like a fighter, per se--but Maggie caught enough of the shape of her profile that she was certain she had seen her on the Network, even if in the dim light she couldn't quite place who it was. Maggie froze a moment, and then took to tailing her. She did her best to remain silent and quiet--but while she had some training in stealth, she was not necessarily the best at it.
