Raven had no idea. It wasn't just that Tonks' mother had shown up. Andromeda brought the future with her. To put it simply, there were a lot of spoilers.

Tonks had never wanted to be told what happened. She was not going to remember her time in the City if she was eventually sent back. To Tonks that meant that she couldn't change anything even if she knew. Why worry about it? Why stress about something that you couldn't prevent? It had been going well for her, until now.

Andromeda didn't even have to tell her everything. It was just there, on the network, for everyone to see. How was she suppose to deal with this? Tonks didn't know.

After she had gotten her mother settled, gotten her a few groceries and some money out for in the morning, Tonks had retreated back to her own apartment in the MAC. Sleep didn't come to her and soon Tonks had found herself longing for firewhiskey but settling for the Muggle version instead.

When Raven knocked on her door, Tonks answered it wearing an over-sized yellow t-shirt and a pair of blue shorts. "Wotcher Raven. Thanks for dropping by."

Raven forced herself to stand up a bit straighter as the door opened, and nodded at Tonks at the greeting. "I said I would, so here I am. Took a while to explain things to Charles, really." She shrugged as she stepped into the room, looking around.

Raven was in a pair of jeans and a grey blouse, though whether they were real or shape-shifted was anyone's guess. She covered her mouth to stiffle a yawn and then grinned at her friend, moving to sit down on the couch without so much as a by-your-leave because standing up was exhausting at this point.

"So...your mom, huh?

Tonks brought Raven over a glass. The bottle and Tonks' own cup was sitting on the coffee table. She wasn't bothering with shot glasses.

She sat down next to Raven. "Yeah, my Mum. You're lucky. It's just your brother." Tonks reached for her glass. "D'you know how far ahead he is or you are yet?"

"Thanks," Raven took the glass and leaned over to the table to pour some lovely booze into it, then leaned back into the cushion and tugged her legs up under her.

"Not a lot. Maybe a day?" Raven shrugged and took a sip from her glass. "What about you two?

At Raven's question, Tonks downed the rest the contents of her glass. It would've been impressive if there had been more than two swallows left. "Two and a half years."

Raven raised a pale eyebrow at that sudden bout of drinking, but decided it was best not to comment on it.

"Ahead or behind?"

Tonks closed her eyes for a moment. "Ahead."

"Oh," Raven wasn't sure what to say to that. After a few seconds of silence she leaned over to get the bottle and poured a bit more of it into Tonks's empty glass. Not as much as the other probably would've poured, but some.

She set it back on the table with a thud, then leaned back again. "...Is that good or bad?"

"It's so bad Raven." Tonks reached up and brushed hair dark plum-colored hair off of her face. "You have no idea."

"...What did she tell you?" Raven turned so her side was resting against the arm of the couch and drew her legs up under her completely, facing Tonks.

Tonks didn't turn around to face Raven. "Everything. I get married. I have a kid. My dad dies. I die. My husband dies." Like she had said, everything.

Raven had not been expecting that, and for several seconds she just stared at Tonks, her eyes wide, thoughts of her own exhaustion suddenly gone.

"...Tonks. I'm..." She frowned at her friend. "...I'm sorry."

"I haven't even cried yet Raven. Why haven't I cried? I loved my dad." Tonks shakes her head. She has never had any problems expression emotions. Often, she wears her heart on her sleeve.

So what's the problem with her now?

"...You're probably in shock, Tonks." Raven reached out to take the other girls glass away from her. After that news, drinking really wasn't what she should be doing. She set it on the table, and then shifted some, her hands resting on her lap, not sure what to say.

"...Maybe you should be with your mother?"

"Maybe. I dunno." Tonks shook her head. "I don't want to be with my mother. I'd rather like to avoid her and everyone else from my world for a while." She knew that it wouldn't be possible, however.

Raven frowned faintly. "That'll probably be impossible, Tonks." She shifted forward though, and put one arm around her friend in a half-hug.

"But for tonight it'll just be you and me, okay? We can...talk about whatever you want. Or anything else." A little pause and a small grin. "At least until I fall asleep."
