WHO: Zevran (
niceassassin) and Captain Jack (
comesback)
WHERE: That TARDIS house place.
WHEN: Monday night. That's tonight.
WARNINGS: Non-explicit sex, probably references to violence.
SUMMARY: Zevran 'Ports back in and decides that he'd rather pay Jack a visit than talk to the Network.
FORMAT: Words?
It takes Zevran some time to readjust to the bright, artificial light of the 'Porter labs in Stark Tower. He'd grown used to the smoky candlelight of his own world, had forgotten there was any other kind of light to have indoors. Even when he steps outside again, he has to pause. The tall buildings, with the light slanting sharply down between them, are a vastly different sight than the crowded, close alleyways he's used to from home. It occurs to him to wonder which one is better.
It's thoughts like that that have him staring at his Network device, then turning it off and sliding it into his belt instead of making a post announcing his return. He has too many feelings for that, and feelings are best exorcised in person rather than through this strange magic of long-distance communication. He's reassured himself that it's only been a couple of days, although it felt like as many months back home. Importantly, Jack is still here, although he doesn't want to think about why that's important. He just knows that seeing Jack again will be a pleasant thing; it feels like it's been too long.
So he sets off for Jack and the Doctor's place. He remembers the trick to not getting any trouble in the City: just act like you belong, and no one will question why you're wearing medieval clothes (and they are clothes, with the armor hidden underneath; Zevran is dressed more for stealth than combat at the moment). With that in mind, he gets there without any trouble. In fact, the only trouble is remembering to ring the doorbell instead of knock. He'll have to get used to the technology here again. He doesn't mind the thought, though.
In fact, he doesn't mind the reprieve in general. That's what it is: a reprieve. Things were getting a little tense for him back home, after all.
