OPEN/Dancing! comesback July 3 2011, 17:13:25 UTC
[With any good party, there is bound to be dancing. Jack has taken it upon himself to be in charge of that bit of the party, and his choice for the evening is jazz. Swing music, to be exact. There's a space cleared in the basement for it, and Jack is wandering from there to the backyard, making sure everything's properly set up (and he has enough records and cds.)]

[And here's Buffy, she brought her dancing shoes just in case. Which look a lot like her regular shoes because she only has the one pair. But there's Jack and she's sidling up to him, attempting to look as casual as possible while also trying to get a glimpse of his record collection.]

Did you bring anything twentieth centuryish?

How is jazz not 20th century? It was invented then. [He sets the box o' records down and starts sorting through them.]

Okay, Glenn Miller's always a good bet.

Good point. [she laughs a little, but cuts it off before it can get unattractive]

I hope being the DJ doesn't exempt you from -- the dancing.

Definitely not. If I have to, I'll get Ted to play DJ.

Isn't that the guy on the grill? Who will you get for the grillings?

I dunno, we'll figure something out if it comes to it. [A little grin.] You ready to dance, gorgeous?

[She blushes, looking down at her shoes.] I did bring my dancing shoes.

Excellent, so did I. [And he sees that blush, so he's just going to offer a hand.] Let me put a record on. Then do you want to dance?

[Biting the inside of her lip, all she can do is nod, accepting the proffered hand.]

It'd be pretty silly to dance to no music.

It would be. [He starts the record and offers a hand, with a little inclination of his head.]

[Following him out on the dance floor, she tries not to blush too much, varying between watching Jack's face and her own feet.]

And there's no silliness allowed here. At a party.

Certainly not. [He grins a bit.] Doing alright there?

Who, me? [Yeah she's definitely beet red by now, but she's moving in closer, trying to keep up.] Fine.

[He just grins some more and pulls her a bit closer.] Good.

Are you--fine? [She almost forgets to make it a question, resting her head on his shoulder]
