[Rapunzel is grinning so widely she might very well burst.]

[Aradia pretty much just blinks at her!]

[Rapunzel does a happy little twirl, her braid swirling about behind her. She would've danced, regardless of what else was going on, probably.]

Didn't you have fun?

[She continues to look at her, rather deadpan. Well. Did she?]

I don't know.

[paints_lanterns]

[Well, that stalls Rapunzel out, and she just blinks.]

You don't know if you had fun?

[Aradia proceeds as though this is a totally normal subject of conversation! Her tone is explanatory.]

For a long time, I didn't remember what that felt like, because I was dead. Now I do a little, I guess. But it's still hard to tell a lot of the time.

[paints_lanterns]

[Rapunzel just sort of stares at her.]

I, uhm. ...You were dead?

[ribbotic]

[RAPUNZEL WHY ARE YOU STARING THIS TOTALLY HAPPENS ALL THE TIME EVERYWHERE. She would shrug, but since it's Aradia, she of course does not.]

Yes.

[paints_lanterns]

[Does not!]

Oh. Well...I'm glad you're not dead anymore! And you should be able to have fun!

[ribbotic]

[There's an actual softening of her expression here, like she'd smile if she wasn't so emotionally and roboticly constipated.]

Yes. I think I am glad about that too. Thank you. [There's a beat, where she notes Rapunzel's hair as if for the first time.] Who are you? [WOW THAT'S POLITE]

Oh, I'm Rapunzel!

[She smiles brightly and twirls around again, spinning on her bare toes. She's in such a wonderful mood.]

What's your name?

[ribbotic]

[She is so damn perky! It's kind of exhausting in the same way Feferi and Nepeta can easily become. Aradia scuffs her shoe against the ground as she speaks.]

Aradia Megido. [Well, Rapunzel is a three-syllable name! It's clearly perfectly normal.] Hi.

[paints_lanterns]

[She'd be sad if she knew she was exhausting. But not for very long.]

It's nice to meet you! Should I just call you Aradia?

[ribbotic]

[It's okay, she'll never tell! And once she gets canon-updated she can totally suck it up.]

That is my first name, so yes, that is probably what you should do. [WAIT, social graces!] It's nice to meet you too, Rapunzel. Do you have fun often?

Oh, I do! As often as I can.

[She paused, shifting absently from foot to foot.]

I have a lot more now that I'm not in Mother's tower. There's so much more fun to have!
