Kaylee liked cutting through the park when she was out running errands and the like, and she liked just coming to wander around sometimes. She'd never really had this nice of greenery back home, between her homeworld being -- well, somewhat dry, and living in space.

She was currently having one of those aimless wanders, and she couldn't help but notice the enthusiastic woman. People with giant grins were honestly refreshing, especially in the City, and Kaylee just grinned back.

At that point, Giselle had a half-full bag of breadcrumbs, given to her by an elderly gentleman she had met earlier. They had spent a little time feeding birds (with Giselle earnestly trying to convince him that she could hear them talk), and he had given her the rest when he had to leave. What a nice old man! She hoped she would see him again.

She was almost skipping at that point, on her way to the duck pond, when her happy expression was mirrored by another girl. Giselle's dreamy demeanor broke, snapped immediately to attention and zeroed right in on her. It only took a hop and a skip to approach a good greeting distance.

"Hello!" she chirped. "Are you here to feed the birds, too?"

"Hadn' much thought on it!" Kaylee said, shrugging. "Was just sorta out for a walk, but."

"Oh, but!" Giselle interjected, practically trampling over Kaylee's words. "You have time, right? Have you seen the pond? It's so lovely. Would you like to come with me? I have plenty here to share." She raised the bag and gave it a little shake to indicate.

"S'pose I do," Kaylee mused. Well, she didn't have anything pressing to attend to, and Giselle's enthusiasm was contagious, so... "I've seen it, uh-huh, but I never mind goin' back. In fact, I'd like it lots."

Giselle had to stifle a Yay!, but it was doubtless apparent in her excited little hop, hands attempting to clasp while still holding onto that bag. She resorted to offering a hand to Kaylee, gesturing to follow before snatching up her skirts instead (they were still just strangers; she knew better than to grab right away!) and bustle down the path, slowing up only to ensure that her new companion was following along.

"It's going to be lovely!" she was exclaiming at the time. "Since we had those little rain showers, the ducks are very happy. Their babies should be getting bigger, too! They're so cute and fluffy...I just love to see them waddling about!"

Kaylee followed along, giggling happily. "Dunno I've taken much time t'watch the ducks, but they sound awful sweet, I'd like t'meet 'em." Now this, this was adorable and pleasant. Not like most of what went on in this City, where the good was few and far between and usually following something less than. This was just silly an precious and nice.

At the pace Giselle was going, it was hardly a journey at all to the pond, where kids and their grandparents were still mulling around. There was more than enough room for two more, of course. She had barely made a sound before the ducks were in motion, paddling to the shore her way. Even so, she couldn't help but let out that calling-card note of hers, dropping to her knees and utterly disregarding the dirt and mud near the water.

"Hello, little friends!" she cried, enthralled. The ducks seemed pretty excited to see her, too, squawking up a storm. She somehow found the attention span to look over her shoulder and beckon Kaylee over. "Come on, come on! Oh, they're so friendly, don't worry!"

The invitation seemed to spread to other passersby, as well, drawing a pair of curious kids.

Kaylee quickly hurried over, and she didn't mind the mud either (she was actually wearing a dress today, so it was just her knees getting dirty anyway). "They seem t'know you," Kaylee mused.

"Oh, we met a few days ago," she explained, cupping one of the ducklings in her hand tenderly. "Before these little ones hatched. And before all the scary fighting happened...I'm so glad everyone's okay!" There was a small clamor of quacks in reply; Giselle giggled and brought the little duck to her face, letting it nip at her nose before nuzzling all that soft fuzz.

"Well, they're real sweet," Kaylee nodded, amused at how the little ducklings seemed to really be bonded to her. "An' so teensy, too!"

"Not for long!" Giselle giggled, drawing the duckling away from her face and to Kaylee's direction. "You're welcome to pet them! They're so soft and sweet. Oh! And I suppose we better break open this bag. It's only fair!"

Kaylee had honestly never spent time with ducks, so it was fair she'd been hesitant, a bit, but invited? Well, okay, petting the little guys couldn't hurt. "Hi there," she cooed, looking straight at the duck before glancing back to Giselle. "They do seem t'be wantin' a snack, huh?"

Giselle was already working the bag open and taking a big handful of bread crumbs and crust out, an action which encouraged a lot more clamor and crowding from ducks young and grown. Pigeons and sparrows were swooping in to get in on the action, as well. The girl laughed.

"There's plenty for everyone, hold on!" she cried, and the birds scrambled to follow her hand as she moved it about, looking for a place to set down and not get gobbled up along with the bread.

Giggling, Kaylee just sat back and watched for a moment. It was sort of really adorable, so.
