[May's entering the apartment, as seen above, arms full of bags. What sights will greet her?]

[A SMALL CHILD BOUNCES IN OUT OF NOWHERE!]

Oh! What did you procreate while you were away? Can I see?

[She has to grin at Hank. Who'd have thought a kid could be so like his adult version? She offers him the first bag of movies.]

Take a look. I aimed for anything that looked like it involved space or aliens or elves.

[Because May did not inherit her dad's love of sci-fi and fantasy. She has no idea what this all is]

Anything rated under R, at least.

[He took the bag enthusiastically, then hopped up and latched his feet on the archway into the living room, digging through the bag with his free hand.]

Did you get The Day The Earth Stood Still? That's one of my most preferential! I saw it in my habitation and almost viewed it at the time, but there was a multiplicity yet to see in this place!

[May just...looks at him.]

Uh, I think so...the remake, at least. You mean you saw it in your apartment but didn't have time to watch it?

There was a funny contraption next to the T.V., but I managed to find out how it appellated. I didn't have a single piece left over, even! Then a shelf full of these luminous frisbees, and one of them said The Day The Earth Stood Still!

I watched a little bit, but still had so much more to see, so I explored the bedroom further. That's when I found this!

[He reaches in his pocket and pulls out the pieces of what would be his communicator, it's case a brilliant blue. One of the extra-large buttons falls to the floor.]

Oops!

[He drops off the ceiling an picks it up, setting down the bag of movies to examine the pieces in both hands.]

I still haven't discovered how to reconstruct it, though. Some of the pieces are just infinitesimal!

[He glances up at her.]

What's a remake?

[May just watches the button fall with trepidation. Her poor, poor appliances. What would become of them?]

You, uh. Be careful of the electronics people use, okay? There isn't really a store I can run to to get new ones right now. And a remake is when they...just redo the film. New actors, better special effects. That kind of thing.

[He stood up and held his hands behind his back, looking a little chided. You're lucky he was interrupted before he got to the toaster.]

Affirmative.

But what's wrong with the film in its originated form? Why would they need a contemporaneous version?

[May eyes him, then tries to look through the wall at the kitchen for a moment. She almost doesn't want to know.]

Thanks. Why don't we bring all this to the living room, huh? And, oh, I don't know. They think kids only care about things with people they know in them, I guess.

[He picks up the bag and follows her into the living room.]

You mean like DeForest Kelley? He's my most preferential! I want to be a medician when I grow up just like Doctor Bones, did you know he has my same nomenclature? We're both McCoys!

I was disapproved to see him only in one show of the new Star Trek, though. They should give Doctor Bones his own series!

[Thank goodness he kept going, or she’d have had no idea what he was talking about. Star Trek. Right. No wonder he and dad got along so well.]

We’re a little further in the, er, space-time continuum than that. There’s a whole new world of actors for you to get to know. And a lot more star…related movies. If you think you’re up to the challenge of covering them all.

[He just looked at her quizzically.]

Do you mean like Star Wars? I enjoy that well enough, but all the medicians are robots.

You want to be- oh. Of course you do...

[She's going to hurt herself if she keeps this up.]

Wanting to be a doctor is a very admirable dream.

[He bounces off the ceiling, literally, pleased to hear her approval.]

My dad says it's a very lucrecious career, but will take a lot of difficult work to earn. I think I may be able to acquaintance it, though!

What do you want to be, May?

Oh, I have a feeling you'll manage it.

[She follows him with her eyes, moving her whole head to keep him in view. How the heck did they manage this full time at Xavier's?]

I...don't really know, actually. I used to want to play basketball, I guess. Now, uh, I mainly just want to graduate. Maybe teach or work for the police.

[This is why they usually tended more toward older kids.]

Basketball is fun, but I injure baseball more. Are you a good teacher? I've tried telling Peter some things I know, but it can be hard to get him to underestimate them.
