"Axel!" Sora waved back, maybe a little spastically. It was good to see his friend again and Axel seemed like he was doing pretty well. The last time they'd spoken over the network, Sora got the impression Axel had been having a really bad day. Bad days never seemed to be lacking here. Still, traumatizing hugs not withstanding, today hadn't really been one of them and he was thankful for that.

"So you wanna go to the store down the street and get ice cream? They have a bunch of different kinds. Sometimes I go there and just look at them all, you know?" He paused, staring at the ghostly clouds that appeared in front of him every time he spoke. Things like that just didn't happen on Sora's island. Never got cold enough to see your breath. If his shins weren't just short of becoming popsicles themselves, Sora would have suggested staying out and trying to make shapes with it. Sure that seemed kinda unlikely, and Axel would probably laugh at him for it, but making shapes with your breath would just be too cool.

Sora grabbed the Nobody's wrist and gently tugged him in the direction of the grocery store. "So, uhh... I've never seen sea salt there, but other than that, what's your favorite flavor?"

He couldn't help but chuckle as Sora dragged him towards the grocery store. Sora was so different form Roxas - Roxas did have his moments of being cheerful, but he was never this chipper or exuberant. How different the lack of a heart made people act.

"Chocolate's pretty good... I like Butter Pecan too." Axel was more of a fan of subtle flavors, none of those super-sweet over-the-top teeth-rotting flavors like bubblegum or cotton-candy-mocha-sugar-surprise-whatever. Nice, subtle flavors. It's how he'd discovered Sea Salt, after all.

He let there be a small pause for a bit, before asking, "So how have you been, Sora?"

"I like chocolate too. And strawberry. Cotton candy too. Actually, I think I just like ice cream, pretty much all of it tastes good." Sora nodded, as if this revelation would have a truly profound impact on his life from now on. "Oh... Umm, I've been fine. Kinda bored, but fine."

Enjoying the night air, and the feeling of scuffing his giant shoes against the sidewalk, Sora threw up his arms in a big, content stretch. "So, how 'bout you, Axel? No more weird machine attacks at your job right?"

"No, no more of those, but I am working two jobs now," Axel answered, mulling over what Sora had said. "The second one is more my style - I'm a business liason."

Axel stuck his hands into his pockets. "You been going to school?"

At that, Sora made a face. He wasn't entirely sure why everyone here seemed so fixated on school. They were supposed to be helping people, right? He for one, didn't see how sitting behind a desk and memorizing useless pieces of information could really be defined as helping. Still, Sora didn't want to upset Axel, so he figured it was best not to mention all of that.

"Nope!" He said, turning to the redhead with a big grin. "I was never much good at it anyway. Riku's smarter." Sora explained, excitedly pointing to the grocery store he'd spotted on the next block.

"Hey, Axel? What's a business liaison?" He asked, after taking a moment to try and process what the other had said.

Oh, Sora. If you would go to school, you'd know. But Axel knew he wasn't in any position to play big brother or dad to Sora, so he just shrugged. "It's a person that goes around to various businesses and talks to them on behalf of their boss, asks them what they want, that sort of thing. Basically I schmooze all day and negotiate for the greater good. Pretty good job for me, don't you think?"

He flashed a winning grin at Sora.
