Sup? [calling out - he's just lounging on his bed with his laptop, coding a worm for shits and giggles]

Hey. [wandering in to go sit on the bed too.] I need to talk to you.

[hackeralastair]

[instantly putting the laptop aside - Kiryu is always welcome in there no matter what]

Oh yeah? Something wrong?

[satisfiedsigner]

[he gives a brief laugh and shakes his head] Not...really. It's nothing bad.

...What all do you know about the Decepticons?

[hackeralastair]

Uh...

[he draws his knees up to his chest and sits forward] ...well, that was the organization or whatever that Soundwave and Starscream belonged to. Shockwave's the only one of 'em left now, isn't he? No, wait, there's that other one, the chick that works for Kaiba now.

I guess I don't really know a hell of a lot, other than they were some kind of faction and Optimus Prime and his guys were the opposing faction.

Slipstream. But yeah, they're the only real ones right now.

[pause] And there's me.

Oh yeah...! [light slowly dawning] That's right, you were kinda...

So what does that mean, exactly?

[aaaand there's a nice smile of relief. good. that made everything way easier.] Yeah.

It means Shockwave trusts me enough to try to recruit more people. It is kinda pathetic that it's only the three of us anymore. And you're the only person I trust enough to ask. Well...and who I think might want to.

[hackeralastair]

[sitting up for a second] Wait what? You're asking me...you want me to join the Decepticons?

[and sinking back down now] ...wh...why, though? I mean, why should I join? I mean...I like Shockwave, he's cool, and I always did like Soundwave and Star...

...except for what he did at the end, there. That whole turning people into robots thing. I never did forgive him for that.

[nodding and suddenly looking way more serious than any time recently]

That...I don't really know what they were doing. I was in Peru then. But I know that one thing they've wanted since coming here was to be robots again...

[why no, he never questioned what they were doing. mostly he was too pissed off about Starscream and Soundwave at the time.]

But lately...well, we haven't really done anything lately. But it's mostly been about the Major and kicking his ass. And...just being a part of a team you can count on to be there if you need them. We just don't always go about it in the nicest ways...

Well, you know I'm all about kicking the Major's ass as many times as it takes. Considering he tried to kill me and got...nnghh...

[nope, still too hard to say out loud. To cover the awkward he reaches for the deck of Duel Monsters cards sitting on the nightstand and shuffles through them to find a certain card. The Seal]

Don't ask me why I still have this. But it means the power's still there. It's not the nicest power. I suppose if I have it, I belong in a group like that after all.

[he frowns a bit, reaching over to cover Alastair's hand and the card.]

That's not why I'm asking you. I mean, it's a part of it, but it's the smallest part.

Well. At least I have a useful power, now, and won't have to just hide in a corner cowering anymore. Right?

[mustering a sort of smile]

I guess I don't really have a problem with being a Decepticon. I mean, aside from Starscream's little blunder, everything they've done has pretty much been the same thing I would have done. And I can understand Cybertronian. Guess that means if you want me...

[satisfiedsigner]

[oh, he is just fighting not to grin here. but Alastair doesn't look thrilled, so maybe he shouldn't...]

I do. You're my best friend; I want you to be a part of this with me.

But I'm not going to force you or anything. It's your choice.

[he puts the card away and turns to Kiryu with more of a smile]

Shockwave's okay with it? Or do I have to like, go to him and ask or something?
