Baroona had tried to avoid the party, in all honesty, but hell. He was hungry and trying to sleep when there was loud shenanigans going on? Doesn't really work out. So, slowly, he makes his way down the stairs to slide quietly into the small throng of people, sticking to walls and generally trying to go unnoticed.

Which doesn't help when you're a chain smoker, but whatever.

On the other hand, Blue was virtually prohibited from hiding away from the particular occasion - probably for good measure, given the rise of hermit-like behavior that hadn't proved anything but problematic. It was probably better to be around a mass of familiar sounds and feelings, he hoped.

Still, there was a bit of strain in his expression, greeting those he knew quietly and listening more than speaking, taking care to answer short, but satisfactory. The underlying anxieties from his fellow Mu were hard to ignore, though.

He excused himself outdoors for a moment, exhaling the weight of concern into the open air. The event at the hotel was larger, full of strangers, and became nothing short of a small crisis of a party, yet it wasn't as unsettling as the house.

The smoke from Baroona's cigarette crept through the air, twisting and curling in front of Blue like a convenient plot device. To his left, Baroona leaned against the wall of the house, exhaling a puff of smoke and watching the sky. Unfortunately for him, he hasn't noticed Blue yet, too busy watching a sparrow fly through the sky.

It was hard getting used to those horrible cigarettes Baroona was such a big fan of - the scent barely had to travel to be noticed, but it was second to regarding the source in hand.

Off to the side as he was, Blue had to only turn his head a little to see him, tilting it a bit.

"Baroona?"

He pauses at the voice, blinking and glancing towards Blue. After a moment's hesitation he takes out his cigarette and throws it on the ground, stamping it out. He doesn't move closer to Blue. Just stays where he is, head turned to regard his guest.

"Was it too much for you?"

Blue's small smile became vaguely pained at the inquiry, shaking his head and looking back to Kurama's garden.

"I worry some a little," he admitted. "I don't want to anymore. I just need to...find footing, I thnk."

"In some sense." Blue felt a touch self-conscious in saying so, shoulders lifting in a slight shrug. "Something besides Soldier...if that's possible." He looked over with an uncertain expression. "I said I would try."

Baroona watched him, smiling as he finished speaking. He walked over and clapped what was meant to be a comforting hand on Blue's shoulder. He continued to walk past him, his hand sliding off Blue as he walked back inside.

"You want me to get you anything?"

Shoulder pats, elbow jabs, back swats...he was getting used to that (thanks, Yusuke), but it seemed there would always be just a little jolt that came with the short flashes of intent behind them. Hardly terrible, but hard to look completely unfazed regardless.

"No, that's alright," he said, turning his head to watch Baroona leave. "Thank you."

A few minutes later, Leo gingerly made his way into the garden. It was a pleasant place to be, even if it took him a little effort to get there.

Soldier Blue, he projected as he caught sight of the other Mu. Baroona had told him he should speak with Blue--he assumed it was a summons from Blue himself, and came as called.

It didn't seem like any time at all had passed between Baroona's leaving and Leo's arriving, and having been caught up in his own thoughts...well, Blue looked surprised to look over his shoulder and find Leo there. Surprise...then concern. Any injury he could've had from hearing Soldier once more was ignored for more important focus.

"Leo..." He turned and moved over. "Should you be moving around so much?"

It's not so bad. This didn't stop him from leaning on the nearest available surface, of course, but it was true in a general sense. It wasn't the worst injury he had ever suffered.

Baroona said you wanted something?

Leo was, as ever, more than willing to work for Blue.

"Baroona-?" Blue looked confused a moment. He certainly hadn't mentioned it, and when asked, he requested nothing.

He smiled, apologetic. "He must have been mistaken. I'm sorry. I wouldn't want you on your feet more than you must. Mu are slow to heal, after all."

It can't hurt much to be outside. Feeling real air on my face makes me feel like I'm healing faster!

It was a facetious remark, intended to soothe Blue's worry. Leo had no shame in putting on a tough face. And besides that, it was pleasant in the garden.

I admit I wondered why you hadn't just called for me yourself. I don't think Baroona understands that part of us.

There was a strong air of mutual understanding at that. "No, I don't think so either," he agreed, coming to stand at Leo's side. "But I have the sense that his world is a great deal different from even this one, at least as far as the level of technology goes. A more primitive Earth, perhaps.

"Even so, he's been very understanding to us, even if we are so strange to him."
