MALL ATTACK #2killerjokeFebruary 5 2011, 20:42:29 UTC
[Piled in SUVs and vans, the lackeys all double checked their weapons. Each one of them had automatics or shotguns, prepared to take out as many people as possible. It was a sick job but they had been paid good money, really good money, so most of them could be a little sick for that. Pulling into the parking lot two dozen men or so all geared up for what was probably going to be the most violent shooting spree any of them would be involved in.]
Manchester was having a cigarette outside near the parking lot when he saw the vans and SUVs pull up. Instincts told him to get out of sight, so he made himself vanish via telepathic illusion before the men saw him. He scanned their minds. He'd have to dig deeper to get more precise information, but what he picked up with a precursory scan was enough. They had been hired to kill as many as possible.
He was supposed to meet up with K.K. any minute now. Fortunately, telepathic communication was silent to everyone but other telepaths.
/K.K.? Where are you? There's a situation. It involves roughly twenty four armed men who want to turn the shopping mall into a bloody shooting gallery./
One of the SUV's tires all simultaneously burst in a flash of purple light. And there, stalking up through the parking lot was a woman in a leather jacket, the word FreakAngels emblazoned on the back. Her eyes were glowing the same bright violet. Her voice, even telepathically, sounded very English and very irritated. Apparently she'd picked up the same murderous thoughts.
Hope you guys don't mind me jumping in here.nightmarecauseFebruary 6 2011, 22:43:36 UTC
Having been out exploring, the sudden sound of tires bursting jolted Darkrai out of his curiosity for how all things worked in this world and he looked around for the source of the sound, spotting it all too quickly-- Spotting men with what even he recognized as weapons too.
He narrowed his eyes then- If they used those things here, people could get hurt. Children could get hurt. And he wasn't about to let that happen. It seemed as if someone was on it already, but that didn't stop him from sneaking closer, intending to help if that was necessary.
No problem! Looks like they might be able to contain it in the parking lotpsychic_cynicFebruary 7 2011, 01:38:39 UTC
Manchester quickly extended his telepathic illusion to conceal K.K. from the hired goons' line of sight. He didn't know the exact range of her powers, so making certain they didn't have anything to shoot at with all of those weapons just yet was the first order of things. It left them looking confused and with their guns at the ready while they searched for the girl they had just seen a moment ago.
Then there was a new arrival. Using his abilities like this, the presence of a mind pinged on his radar, even if he wasn't reading the person's mind. He didn't need to in order to know that the new arrival wasn't with the gunmen if nothing else, so he began figuring out a plan. Fortunately, he had years of practice thinking up plans as he went along, and in dangerous situations. He wasn't quite a mastermind, but he could do this.
/On my way,/ Manchester told K.K. telepathically. He didn't bother to walk. Telekinesis was a faster mode of transportation, and the gunmen were still under his illusion for the moment. Once he was

You ought to let me to do the heavy-lifting. I can handle this myself.
Three of the men's guns crumpled in another flash of purple. Their panic rose as they searched for the invisible enemy, whirling around them in bewilderment.
The voice in his head startled Darkrai for a moment, but seeing as it seemed to mean him no harm, he calmed down and listened. He could agree that warning people would be a good idea, but then, he wasn't quite the fastest on his feet, much more fit for taking people out with nightmares than to run and warn people. He wasn't even quite sure if people would just fear him, or if they'd do as they were told.
/I can try. But- I am not the fastest. I would not be able to run to warn them. I would- be able to knock these men unconscious without causing any damage to them though./
Well, kind of without causing any damage to them. His nightmares were often quite damaging enough for the ones who suffered under them, but physically they would be quite alright.
/Leaving you with all the heavy lifting just would not be polite at all, K.K.,/ Manchester teased. /Not sure who he is yet, but he says he could knock these chaps out without hurting them./
Two of the SUVs rose a few feet off the ground, the doors opened, and the gunmen still inside were shaken out and dumped unceremoniously on their bottoms.
/How would you do that, mate?/ Manchester asked, sending another message to Darkrai. /And would you be able to leave one or two of 'em conscious for questioning or is it an area of effect type of attack my associate and I should be preparing to shield ourselves from?/
The question, even telepathically, sounds a touch sarcastic, but she doesn't mean anything by it. It just isn't her style. She's the type to beat a man to a bloody pulp.
Yeah, well, alright. If that wanker over there thinks he can do it, might as well let him try then. We can help evacuate the civilians.
It wasn't normally something he enjoyed inducing, especially in humans. With Pokémons it was pure defense should he be attacked, but humans usually had no way of defending themselves from his power so he preferred to not use it on them if it could be avoided... But these men deserved it. In fact, the way even his mental voice had taken on a bit more of a sinister tone suggested that he intended to make the nightmares bad enough for some suffering. Anyone intending to harm others should suffer.
Anyone not taking other people's wellbeing into consideration, not caring who got hurt... It reminded him of Palkia and Dialga, fighting in Alamos Town, not caring that they were destroying the town and the lives of those in it. This might be on a smaller scale, but still. They had obviously been planning on destroying lives.
/I can. And you- will want. To step back. So you are not affected. I will leave a few. Awake. For you./He hoped that had been coherent enough. He didn't normally think in the

/Personally, I don't care if these rotters get a good kicking or not,/ replied Manchester. /But he says he can make them sleep and give them nightmares and suggests we step back so we're not under his influence. Might be a good time for us to scan and see if anyone approached any of the other entrances with the same idea as these bastards./
From what he could sense when he gave himself a few seconds, there wasn't anyone else, but he was occupied with maintaining the illusion. He'd wait until K.K. gave her verdict to be sure.
/All right...whenever you're ready, mate,/ he said to Darkrai.
