Jean-Paul had been skeptical about his alternate-self's autobiography for a while. He had put it down on the living room's small center table and left it there to accumulate dust for a day. He really didn't need to know about how another him had lived, right?

It had lasted a day and curiosity had won him over. He didn't read the book quickly and didn't spend that much time on it. His counterpart didn't have the most amazing writing style ever, that was for sure, but he still brought life to his words. Jean-Paul sometimes identified with him and sometimes not but either way, wanted to get all the information and stopped reading whenever he got emotional over something or simply tired.

The other Northstar was obviously much older. Old enough to have been involved in the FLQ in 1970, which wasn't all that surprising considering Jean-Paul did consider himself a separatist. It seemed the group had been more important, or at least more dangerous in that particular universe since the Other had been accused of severe terrorism or something similar - and the FLQ had been small terrorists for about a month.

He was reading the book with attention, discovering about how the Other had to give away all his medals when his identity as a mutant was discovered and interrupted himself to look at his communicator. The Spider-Man he knew had recently been pulled into all this madness and was on the board. He answered his last message, trying not to mock him any further and went back to the book.
