Josh had snuck out to patrol, which was ridiculous. Who has to sneak out to go do good deeds? He had forgone jumping from rooftops tonight though, since with all the snow they were rather slick and he found out the hard way it's hard to stop when jumping from one roof to other.

When he saw the skeletons though, he was glad he had gone street level. How often do you see skeletons digging out snow? Dressed in his own not very disguise-y costume of jeans, t-shirt, and trench coat Josh walked up to the group.

"That's pretty cool."

Nico looks surprised - well, his body language suggests that he does, anyway. "... You think so?" He's totally not used to good reactions, still, which is why he's out here in the middle of the night, instead of waiting for daylight.

Hey, wait. He totally recognizes this guy.

"You're-" he pulls off his helmet while he's thinking, thus proving that he completely misses the point of disguises by pulling them off the second he meets anybody, "Josh, right?"

As soon as the other boy takes off his helmet, Josh recognized him as someone he'd talked to a few times. Which, probably shouldn't have been a surprise since he doubted a native of this world would be controlling skeletons.

"Yeah, and you're Nico, right?" he asked. "And yeah, this is really cool of you to do."

"Yeah? I mean- thanks." He shrugs sheepishly, scuffing his foot against the snowy pavement. It really means a lot that Josh thinks so, since for the past half hour he has just felt silly and kinda cold. "I couldn't really think of anything else. I mean, I can't fight mor- er, regular... crime. I don't even know, like, most laws."

"I don't know, you could probably scare off some muggers with those for sure," Josh said. Mugging was kind of easy to spot. Using skeletons for grunt work was kinda cool.

"If you ever want to, I don't know, patrol together or something we could do that."

Nico chewed on his lip for a second. It may be a snap judgment, but Josh seems pretty okay. And while he isn't a demigod or anything, at least he still gets how annoying prophecies and stuff can be. That's about as close as Nico's going to get, without the Porter snatching up people from his own world, he thinks.

Plus he's been bored out of his mind ever since coming here. "Okay." He pauses, because he'd totally forgotten and it's probably important to ask, "what kind of stuff can you do?"

"I can control fire and water," Josh said, and almost added that hopefully soon he'll be able to control earth as well, if Zatanna could help him with that.

"Plus I'm faster and stronger than normal people. I'm good at hand to hand combat, too, and I can create my own magical armor."

Nico blinked. Okay, that was cooler than he'd expected. It also sounded like it'd fit in with his own style better than most of the hero types around.

Better than flying around with a cape or something, anyway. "So what do you do? Just walk around and look for crimes?"

"Sometimes," he said with a shrug. "I don't do it every night, but sometimes I go out and run along the rooftops and look for muggers and stuff."

Josh gave a bit of a sheepish grin at that last part.

"Tonight I'm on the ground since, heh, the rooftops are kind of slippery."
