He forgot how much he disliked paperwork. The legal rigmarole of keeping the facility running and the press at bay was tedious to say the least. Still, it was well worth the effort considering the eventual payoff.

Pushing the glasses up the bridge of his nose, he paused when he heard someone outside the door. At the sound of the voice on the other side, he could only suppress a smile.

Without even looking up from his work, he replied, "It's open," tones colored with the necessary British accent.

She politely strode in, surreptitiously surveying his office and trying to get a feel for the man's character.

"I hope you don't mind the intrusion," she said with a slight smile. Even if he did, she wasn't going anywhere. "My name is Elisa Maza, I'm one of the co-commissioners of the police in this city." She pulled out her badge out of habit, flipping it open to reveal her credentials.

The office was a modest size with books lining the shelves around the walls. There were a few personal effects (his credentials, a few pictures, etc), not to mention a slew of papers piled up on his desk. The room was a bit in disarray, actually, thanks to the work he had to do, but such was life.

"Not at all," he said, again pushing the glasses up the bridge of his nose. "Is there something I can assist you with, Commissioner Maza?"

"I'm hoping so," she said, looking at the diploma and the various posters on the walls. She was almost disappointed she didn't really see anything out of the ordinary, even though she knew she shouldn't be. Most people didn't outright declare their evil in their decor. Xanatos and Demona were the two exceptions that sprang to mind.

"I've only recently returned to the City, and as you may imagine, things since my last visit here have changed, this hospital being one of them. I wanted to just get a feel of what it is you do here, and it seemed that you were the one to talk to about that."
