Despite the fact that James had made it very clear this wasn't a date, it hadn't stopped Lily from doing large amounts of pacing all day. It wasn't because she was nervous- it was James, honestly what was there to be nervous of? Knowing that Remus and Edgeworth were going to accompany them settled her anxiety slightly, but it also made it seem more like a double-date since the two of them were together.

Pushing all that out of her head, the (former?) Gryffindor stood in front of her mirror, inspecting her appearance. Even though James had told her- not on only one occasion, either- that she would look good in anything she wore, being a girl made her naturally fretful about her clothing. She had decided on a jade green, 3/4 sleeved top, which complimented both her eyes and her hair wonderfully, and a pair of dark skinny jeans. All-in-all, she looked beautiful, and yet she still managed to find things about her appearance to fuss over.

Lily jumped lightly as James knocked, and she took a second to compose herself before going to the door and opening it.

"Hi, James," she smiled, and she definitely didn't notice how handsome he was. Of course not.

"Er, hallo," he replied, smiling back. "Er. Think you'd like a coat or something? It's a bit cold outside. Not snowing or anything, but still cold enough." He was wearing the shirt Sirius had loaned him underneath a coat and scarf, and his hair was moderately tame. Well. As tame as he could make it under the circumstances. James fidgeted a little and adjusted his glasses.

"So. Where do you want to go first?"

Lily stepped back inside the apartment to grab her coat, slipping it on as she walked into the hallway and closed the door behind her.

"Well, we should find Remus and Edgeworth first, right?" she asked, hands sliding into her pockets.

"Er, yeah, I suppose." He shifted a bit and shrugged. "I told them we'd meet them outside, if you like. I was just trying to think of other places we could go, aside from ice-skating."

"You know the City better than I do," she reminded him. "Though there is this great hot dog place that Josh took me to a couple weeks ago. If you don't mind horribly greasy food, that is."

And she may have been trying just a bit to make James jealous. It wasn't as if Josh and Lily had gone on a date by any means, but she'd certainly made it sound that way.

"Not by a lot," he replied. He quirked an eyebrow. "What, Josh, who's Josh?" There was a pause. "Oh, wait, right, that blond bloke, yeah? ...Wait, you went out with him? When?!" And another one.

"I mean. Not that I'm your ...you can't ... I mean. Just never mind, yeah?Anyway, food sounds good." Food was good, yes. Hopefully it would distract him from thinking about Josh.

Lily giggled lightly, pleased by his reaction. If he got jealous that easily, she could really have some fun.

"Food does sound good," she agreed.

He wasn't jealous. Not really. There was nothing to be jealous of, right? They weren't even dating or anything.

"Alright then, food it is," he replied, heading for the elevator. "So food, and wandering, and skating. Have you been to the big park yet?"

"I don't think so," she said, trying to remember. "I've been to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, though. Josh said it was his favourite and wanted me to see it. I don't think I've been many other places."

"Brilliant, we should go there, too, then." James grinned and stuck his hands in his pockets. "I saw it when Sirius and I were flying, but I've not actually been yet. And there'll be snow!" Hopefully clean snow, even, though that's doubtful in the city.

Lily's eyes lit up as a giant smile spread across her face.

"It's supposed to snow?" she asked. "That's amazing!"

"Well, it did last week, yeah? There might be some left, I don't know if it's actually going to snow." He paused a bit and grinned. "Though y'know, if you really want it to, I s'pose I could charm some up or something."

Lily turned to him, her eyes shining in that way only hers could.

"That would be brilliant, James!" she exclaimed, forcing back the urge to hug him. "Would you?"

Of course, she could do it herself, but there was something about James wanting to do it for her that made her feel all tingly inside.

"Well yeah, 'f course I would." He grinned and headed down the hallway. "Why not? It can't be that hard, and it'd be interesting to see the looks on the Muggles' faces."

Right, the stairs were that way. He continued heading towards them, turning back and glancing at Lily. "C'mon then, Moony and Bluffles are waiting."
